Hour or half hour, group/private? I'm a novice rider, if that's important!

Trying to get an idea of how much they'll cost me.

For an hour long group lesson at my riding school we pay £18.
Which I think is pretty reasonable.

I remember when I was 7, having weekly half hour private lessons for £7

Yard has a membership scheme so evenings and weekends are more expensive as more demand. So on other hand it's cheaper during the week before 4pm

Private for 45mins during the week costs me £40, goes up to £50 if I want to ride at weekends.

Group lessons - £20 during the week, £25 at weekends.

ETS - not sure what the non-member rates are

At my riding school it's £40 for an hours private lesson or £31 for an hours group lesson (group being no more then 2 people). I think it is slightly cheaper during the week/evenings and cheaper for kids as well.

I dont pay for my lessons as my YO is a qualified instructor and she is my friend, so she doesnt charge me

:)

If i did it would be £25 for a hour private or £20 for a group.

My instructor is a very good friend of mine, so only charges me £15 and hour for a private lesson on my own horse. At the local riding school it would be £18 for half an hour group, that's all I had so I'm not sure about other types of lesson.

At my previous yard (which is also a riding school) i think it was:
1/2hr group - £13
1/2hr private - £15
1hr group - £20
1hr private - £25
1/2hr private for liveries - £8

I haven't actually had any proper lessons for over a year

i do need some though!

I pay £15 for a half hour private lesson using yards own indoor school and own horse.

At a yard in London I've paid £30 for a half hour, advanced private lesson on of their horses. Was worth it but not something I can afford often!

£15 for about an hour on my own horse but at my instructors yard.

She not very money minded and I have had lessons for about 2 hours and she still charges the same price. She is an execellent instructor and a list 4 or 5 dressage judge.

I pay £10 for half hour
My daughter has 1 hour group lesson for £16.
in the early eighties my mum used to pay £2. for an hour for my lesson !!

Mine is £21 for hour group or £28 semi private (can't remember what it is for private lesson)

Thomastank I also remember the 80s lessons - think mine were £3 something. Mind I also paid £6.50 in 90s at a riding school - I think my present instructor can seen the benefits of those cheap lesson

The yard I was at with college charged...

35 - hour private
20 - half an hour private

i think, all i know was that they had quite high prices

Well, at the rs I got to it's the same price private or group, although there are hardly any private lessons
1/2 hour is £13.50
3/4 hour is £18.50
! hour is £25
There is also a pound reduction if you ride with syblings!
Liveries also have £5 off whichever lesson they ride in!

For XC and SJ £40 per hour for instructor's time but that's split for more people - at her yard so if my daughter and I both have a lesson at the same time we still pay £40

For flatwork £10 per person per hour - again at instructors yard but if my duaghter and I both have a lesson at the same time it's then £20.

1 hour group lesson £12 but only because we have lessons on our own horses and keep them at the RS on working livery

Normal price lesson I think is £18 in south east that isnt too bad
