I'm trying to sell my pony but I'm not sure I'm asking the right price. I know it's the wrong time of year which has been made worse by the recession.
She's 14.2hh, coloured 3 yo cobx by Romany Jojo (sire of Burghley Young Event Horse winner and numerous show hunters, show jumpers etc.) I've had her from 7 months old and she's been well handled. She has been backed which was straightforward and has now been turned away for the winter. She has good conformation, lovely paces and a kind temperament. She was successfully shown in-hand over the summer and she behaved impeccably.
I am only selling her as I know I've taken on too much. She is my first youngster and I've loved it but when she was backed and then I had to ride her away I came off her a few times as she started to test me out. I'm just feel too old for this! (I'm 47) I know a confident, younger person will be much better for her.
I know she's going to be a fabulous horse, I only wish she was a few years older than she is now.

Please be honest in your comments, I won't be offended. Thanks.

if she has had you off a few times i would only value her at £800-1000 max unless the problem has already been solved by another rider.

god for 800 id bite your hand off !!
pm me if you want to sell that low :}
she was a unbroken 3 yr old that tried it on .
i think shes stunning

[/ QUOTE ] What did she actually do which resulted in you coming off? Shying, bucking, rearing?

Thanks for your comments. She's bucked a few times and had me off. Sometimes this was when I was in a big field herself and other times when going into canter. I think this was typical 3 yo stuff. My much younger friend rode her last and wasn't phased by it at all. I've ended up turning her away for the winter as I no longer have time due to family illness.

I paid £1100 for her as a foal so I won't be letting her go for £800 (sorry wildwest!)

I'll probably end up keeping her for the winter as I may have a rider to take her on in the spring.

mmm same last year i was looking for a project unbacked horse with a budget of 1000 and there was nothing that was worth a look at or was below this price i would have snapped her up at that price and bucing unless its caused by back issues unless its vertical broncing i think is potentially easily solved. i think between 1500-1800
