G's insurance is coming up for renewal and I'm wondering if I've got her insured for the right amount, so would appreciate your opinions!!!!

15hh Unregistered Welsh Section D
Mare
5 years old (6 in May)
Good flatwork but strong in canter, is forward going
LOVES jumping - doing 2'6-2'9 with me (if I'm feeling brave) but has done 3'3
Always gone clear with me cross country
Does very well in the show ring, only once been out of the ribbons and regularly places above Welsh Ds that show at county level.
Reserve Champion at Avon & Borders WPCS Summer Show (yes only local level but I'm a proud Mum!)
No vices
Good as gold to handle and do

She's basically a brilliant Riding Club allrounder. So how much would you insure her for?

And some piccies!

I would say about £4k maybe more, she's lovely :)

You have to think about if you really need to insure for a horses market value, I think there is little point unless you intend on having loss of use.

Sorry yes she's good to hack alone and in company! Articulated lorries etc no problem (yellow flowers on their own are another matter though of course).

The problem is some insurance companied won't insure the horse for a lot more than you paid for the horse, unless they have a proven comp record. E.g I paid £1500 for my girl and if i was selling her she would be advertised at 5/6K, however the most they will insure her for is £2500 as I rarely compete her (not because she can't do it, but because I don't have transport) So just a thought anyway!

Thanks everyone! I was thinking about the same! She's currently insured for 3k but I have receipt showing I paid 3.3k for her, so may discuss with insurance about putting it up, but will definately have to think about whether it's worth it.
