Glad he extricated himself with no damage. He really looked like he was going the first time and popped it second time without any hesitation - what spooked him?
I'd love to know what was going through his mind at the time
Was stood next to a jump at Bramham one year, horse came up, decided partway through he wasn't so keen on the jump, so went into the ditch between the take-off and the brush fence part of the jump!
Glad he got off it ok. Daughter's horae did similar but stopped straddled over the fence (barrels). She had to get off, so was eliminated, and push him off the side!
Haha thanks everyone! I'm not sure entirely what happened to be honest, he must just have taken exception to the funny coloured middle
He was perfectly alright, just a tiny scrape on his knee and elbow and was happily popping fences today in practice!
Whoops!!!
Have to say OP was lovely to see you reassure him after horse got himself back off fence. Nice sympathetic riding also when you got over the fence, don't see enough of it these days
