My OH has no interest at all in the horses, just lumbering beasts that occasionally escape into the garden and make holes.

Yesterday I come home from work and he says 'There are 9 horses in that field'.
Me: 'yes, thats correct'.
Him: ' I only thought there were eight'
Me: 'No, there's been 9 since the baby was born'
Him; 'Really? when was he born?'
Me: 'He'll be 3 in June'
Him; 'Oh'

Convo ends!!!

At least he's showing an interest.
You should be pleased!

My OH is terrible. Generally. He told me today he was 'getting to know the garden' and didn't realise we had a tractor tyre as the sand pit! We've been here 6 odd weeks now, and trust me, the garden isn't big, and the tractor tyre is blatently obvious to all - but OH it seems.

As for the horses, its been about 3 years since he last saw them 'live'!! lol

My oh is the least observant guy ever, he has watched me do dressage tests for years and still knows nothing BUT at a ode did ask whether the horse was supposed to go sideways out of the arena! I was like err no - at least he knows that wasnt supposed to happen lol !

Ah see I have it the other way round...it's me that's unobservant, if its not horse related... Hubby has grown a goatee and I only realised today... Oops. He did have a little grumble saying I would of noticed if NAS had grown one...

I replied he did and I didn't like it on him either. :)

Mine's not too bad, he can usually spot my horse at the yard which is actually fairly impressive as at one point we had two bay full tb's with two white socks and blaze and one Anglo Arab of exactly the same colouring... he was able to guess which of the three was mine!!

These are great :D

My OH is pretty good. He spent ages learning what it looks like when horses are on the wrong canter lead. His timing for airing this new knowledge to the world wasn't the best though. At a show, watching someone do their individual show in some class, stood next to the parents/friends of this person, he suddenly declares 'That one's on the wrong leg!'

ahhh funny! lol! :D
my OH isnt interested in horses, but will happily watch me ride, come to the yard to take pictures of Spot and he even pats him! :D

My fella isn't very interested but the other weekend I had to go up to North Wales (from down south) for a breed society meeting and trusted him to feed the boys for me - I kept a very treasured text message from him (so not him) "It was a bit nippy so I left their rugs on....." OMG and he keeps asking how they are now! ;)

lol well my hubby is not interested at all - or so i thought.
Ive had my boy 2 years now and have only ever led him out once - my hubby does it every single morning - weekends, workdays, christmas - he says its because im busy.
So this week my yardmate has put her growing pony in bigboys field and wants my boy to go with him very early morning - she will lead both out.
I thought oh would be thrilled - but no!!!! Big huge sulks!!!!
He says it will ruin our boys routine, upset him and he will sulk (the horse lol) .
He loves taking him out!!!!! Its his time with him!!!
lol men - i will never ever understand them!:D

A friend was getting a new saddle but knew hubby would have a fit if he found out so she bought a disgusting new pink saddle cover and strategically placed old saddle on a stand in the boot room by his gun cupboard. Finally hubby asked if that was a new saddle "oh no" she replies quite honestly "its just a new cover", a week later the new saddle arrived and was placed in boot room, with same cover and to this day he has not realised it is a new one ;)

I own a dark bay mare - when my ex came to watch me ride one day he commented on how well behaved she was being for a change... I was riding my friend's grey horse

I have been bumbling along thinking my OH is oblivious to anything horsey, I have 2 bright bays but always told OH it was just the one, they are very alike!

Last week riding Baz in the school OH is watching and says, he is really swinging through from behind, much more so than Ollie does........ I am amazed he knows the front from the back let alone whether or not a horse is working correctly!!

A couple of years ago i brought a13.2hh skewbald gelding as a project,to break to drive sold him, and got a 15.hh standerdbred gelding, bless him OH comes up the stables last week and said oh he's gone all brown what happen to his white bits lol,but to be fair we have been married 20 years and i have always had very long dark hair, got bored one day and had it all cut off and went blonde took him 2 weeks to notice, and all he said was have you done something different with your hair, doh hes such a man lol

Rofl :D :D

That is pretty special :D

D is getting better, he's now quietly chuffed that he knows which canter lead the horse is on :D

WOW, he knows canter and what lead!!!!! mine stuggles to tell pony from dog .... oh no he knows pony as apparantly it is the ' thing ' that makes him have to take time off work. althugh last night was the only time I asked to do anythng other than hold him as Daisy needed a wee.

His loss as he is missing out on some thing his daughter loves although he is convinced I make her.... go figure

We have just about managed to get OH out of the habit of leading my slightly bargy youngster like one of the dogs - I have a leadrope with a loop at the end, which he was insisting on holding him by, and then wondering why said horse was just wandering wherever he felt like going. I told him over and over again to hold him under his chin so he would have some control, but I couldn't possibly be right, until my instructor told him the same thing!

Im so lucky my OH notice nothing i could have twenty horse he wouldnt know its great because he doesnt even look at the bank statement so i dont have to explain that new saddle i just bought and all the other thing and i wouldnt change him for anything
