How often do you REALLY worm/shoe/teeth ?

riding horse shod as needed either 5 or 6 weeks. 2 unshod i run a rasp around when needed. yard im on worms 4 times a year, vaccinations ,teeth, back, and saddle every year ,

Shoes every five weeks trims for BF ones every six to eight weeks.
Worming tape worm twice a year FEC four times a year .
Teeth every twelve months every six months for some.

Worm - worm count every 3 mths then wormed if needed. tapeworm and encysted

Shoe - every 5-6wks, unshods trimmed as needed

Teeth - every 6 mths

Backs - 3mths for working horses. 6 mths for field ornaments

Jabs - annually

Worm count 2x year and wormed for tapeworm x1
Farrier is booked by yard every 5-6 weeks.
teeth every 6 months (mare has a diastema so do this without fail)
back every 3-6 months.

wormer:: On yard's worming programme which is always done over a weekend. As organised by the Riding school vet, they tell YO which wormer to use, how much and when.

Shoes: Every 6 weeks (shod all round). Farrier is on yard weekly if needed.

Teeth : every 8 months (sooner if there's a problem)

Back: Every 6 months (sooner if there's an issue).

Jabs: Every february.

Teeth once a year unless there's an obvious problem.

All mine are barefoot, trimming every 10 weeks approx.

Worming. Hmm. Four times a year. BUT...I bought wormers for mine a month ago from Mole Valley, and the lady who served me said they are now advising worm counts, and if the level (I'm not sure how it's done) is below a cerain number they will advise NOT to worm. The reason being the worms are now becoming resistant to the worming chemicals.

My horse was young, neglected and broken in body and spirit when I bought him two years ago. He needed a huge amount of care and vet, farrier, dentist, osteopathy treatment and eventually saddle making and fitting. He's now the picture of health and lovely ride, competing and generally having fun!
Consequently, he's wormed every 13 weeks, as per vet advice, shoes every 5-6 weeks, teeth every six to nine months, osteopathy every three to four months, saddle checked every three to four months, vet check and vaccs every year.

Worm - worm count every 3 months + worm for tapeworm and encysted red worm

Shoes - every seven weeks as per farrier's advice

Teeth - varies for each horse but minimum every 12 months. For anyone who has teeth done less frequently it may be a good idea to check your insurance small print - my insurers now state any horse insured must have an yearly dental check.

Worming - We worm count amd then worm when needed. Off the top of my head, we worm every winter for a certain type of worm.

Teeth - Checked every 6 months by an EDT. Rasped as necessary.

Physiotherapy - it was every six months, but currently eight-twelve weeks as treating a minor problem as a result of a slip/fall in the field.

Saddle - every four-six months, as he is a forever changing shape youngster.

Feet - trimmed every seven weeks by an EP trimmer.

Personally, I would rather try to actively avoid problems through management/preventation than having to treat a problem that could have been avoided.

Worm counts done every 3 months and wormed if necessary.
Shoes done every 7 weeks and next appt booked at time of shoeing.

Teeth done every 12 months at the same time as their vaccinatons.

Teeth annually.
Worming, tapeworm yearly, and worm counts done to see what else needs doing.
Farrier as and when needs doing, this varies from 3 weeks to 15 weeks.
Backs as neccasary, saddles ditto.

God I'm REALLY boring

Shoes every 5-6 weeks, never longer. And farrier aka therapist :o

Teeth - need sorting at mo so dentist recommends 6months (he's easy on the eye so it helps :o:D)

Worming - we're on yard worming programme so just go with flow, although I'd say it was every 2-3 months? And worm count too ;)

I stick to the books :D

Shod every 6 weeks- we book farrier evey time he comes for the next time so we are always on time.

Teeth every year as yard organises it together every april/may

Worms- Y/O does worm count and worming x4 a year

Vaccs every year on time as i compete so got to be done.

Worm: I do worm counts ever April/june/august/december. She also gets bloodtested for tape worm every start and end of the year. Then wormed once a year with equest for encysted redworm and then if a worm count it high.

Shoe: Shes shod every 6/8 weeks, depending on time of year, at the minute every 6 weeks.

Teeth: Every 8 months at the minute!

Worm: always worm for encysted over winter and tapeworm in autumn, worm count the rest of the year. Fields are regularly poo-picked.

Shoe: all unshod. Depends on time of year and how much work they're doing (if they're doing plenty of roadwork then they keep themselves tidy.). Usually every 10-12 weeks.

Teeth: boys are done every six months. Welsh mare has very good teeth so only done every 18 months or so. She usually gets checked when the boys are done though.

Worming 4x a year.
Shoeing every 6 weeks in the summer but going barefoot over winter so will be 8 weeks+
Dentist every 6 months as one horse is 19 and has problem teeth (they are very gappy!) and the other horse is 5years.
Physio every 6 months (at start of competing in spring and at the end before winter)
Saddle fitter when ever I think they have changed and their saddles may need adjusting but usually a check over in the spring.

Worm- 1/2 a year for tapeworm and once for ERW. Then any other time if needed. I don't do it routinely as not recommended.

Shoes booked every 6 weeks. Foot balance is very important.

Teeth every 9 months. I write it in my diary to remind me.

This though mine can go to 12 months for his teeth.

Wormed - 4 times a year
Shod - every 8 weeks
Teeth - religiously every 6 months due to having a slight parrot mouth & being able to feel as soon as they are needing doing!

farrier - 6 to 8weeks between trims (neither have shoes at the moment)
teeth - once a year or just a bit over usually when i remember :o
worming -between 8 and 12 weeks but i do it more often for the youngster (6weeks or so) as she came with quite a bad worm burden which is taking aggeeesss to shake off
backs- usually every 6 months for a check up unless they look like there is a problem
jabs - tetnus every 2 years and neither of them go anywhere or see other horses so i dont have flu unless i plan on taking them somewhere :)

Worm in-line with yard programme. We're good at it (now, had a slight blip earlier this year when YM left, but we're back on track).

Teeth. Mary-Kate does Dizz every six months, to within the week - Dizz has four teeth that grow slightly inwards and get sharp. The other two are annually, though if they're in M-K will give them a quick check over.

Farrier. Six to ten weeks depending on the horse and how the hooves are growing. All barefoot at the moment. Ever six weeks when shod.

Vaccines done every year on the dot - teeth are done at the same time, so the vet is present to sedate for the practice dentist.

Feet are done every 6 weeks, I book the farrier while he's there so there is no issue getting hold of him or him being busy etc. The old adage "No foot no horse" is a true now as it was then!

Worming is done as per the seasons and the packet tells you how long the wormer lasts etc - most mobile phones have calenders and reminders its not hard to keep it all in line!

I on the other hand haven't been to the dentist in 10yrs!!

worm count and worming as needed, minimum twice a year tho for tape worm, we also poo pick etc to minimise worms.
Teeth are every six months, we book at the previous appointment, mainly because we got ours as youngsters and even tho my mare is now 7 by six months she already had sharp points developing so I'd rather have them taken off before she gets a sore mouth.
Feet wise about every 6 weeks (they're not shod) for a trim but generally when they start to look like they need it as if we're doing a lot of road work they don't need done as often. I'm lucky in that my farrier runs my yard so is onsite although it can be difficult to get him to do them :D

Worm - as per yard routien (ie regularly)
Farrier - to trim as needed which at present is every 12 weeks or so
Dentist - yearly with vaccinations
Back - as needed

Worming - to programme
Farrier - make next appointment for 6 or 7 weeks (as he thinks is appropriate) at every visit.
Dentist - next door neighbour is EDT so he has a quick look at them fairly regularly. Get treatment when they need it.
Back lady is also a saddle fitter. As required - Only had need to call her in last year - one treatment and a follow up appointment (to check no ongoing problems). Will make another appointment next spring.
