Ben goes 6 weeks as hes so big dont want the strain on his legs etc if his feet get long which they tend to do after 6 weeks. My other pony used to go 8 weeks.
usually every 7 weeks. But horse keeps losing a shoe so hes been up more often than that.
Hes advised to got to 6 weeks to keep ontop of his dodgey foot as its hard to keep a shoe on it, so if its trimmed more regularly it will be a better shape to keep his shoe one instead of a chunk missing.
Good to see all your replies - i was beginning to think my horse had something wrong with her as all the others on the yard go 7-8 weeks. Luckily the farriers that do her are pretty flexible and are happy to come out for just one horse at quite short notice.
