As title, I am just sitting here with my old girl Daisy. She is 21, hope she has a few more years, she is in good health.

I lost my beloved cat at the age of 18 1/2. He was half Persian so it was probably the moggy part that kept him going that long.

My oldest cat is now around 16, she has one eye, one tooth and rules the house with a paw of iron :D she is going a smidge senile but still manages to cause havoc. She's awesome, the other six and 5 dogs all give her the respect she deserves :)

The oldest one we had was 21 but we lost what looked like healthiest cat on earth last year he was only 12. His coat gleamed his teeth were perfect but he curled up to sleep and didnt wake up

I had a lovely tortie who was 19 and fine. But she was attacked by a stray (I used to live where people dumped their unwanted cats) and got an infection from the wound, died within weeks.

All we know about ours is that he was an adult cat when he turned up 20 years ago. He's pretty deaf and no longer grooms himself but otherwise looks grimly determined to carry on.

The oldest we had was 23 when he passed away...OH said he only lived that long to spite him!
The yard cat is a ferocious hunter and is now 15.

My last girls two torties from the same litter lived to 16 and 18. The first one died from hyperthyroidism that didn't respond well to medication. The other lived for another 2 years but her bladder became hardened for some reason and she had to go to the loo every 5 minutes. In the end she became distressed by it and I had to have her pts. They were a big part of my life from my late twenties to my mid forties.

I've got two boys now who are just over a year old.

My 2 boys are 3. They're both around 6kg so know they wont live as long as a smaller moggy but hopefully many more years to come. Mum and dads rescue cat is 24. Now deaf as a post and has been on meds for kidney "failure" for at least 5 years but she seems to keep plodding on!

Rosie is 14. She suffers from seizures that are slowly becoming more regular, and she has a rotten tooth that the vet won't touch because of the seizures. She also has kidney disease but refuses point blank to eat prescription food. She is still the size of a large kitten as she just never grew. Vets always said she would be lucky to make it past about 8 years old. We took her to the vets 2 weeks ago to PTS as she'd been struggling to eat over the weekend. As it happened, she picked up again the day before the appt. Vet gave us some AB's and painkillers, and she's like her old self again. We can't always get her to take the painkillers, she's putting up such a fight! We watch her closely, and will call time when it's right.

Ozzie is 13. Although very healthy, he has become a pretty lazy cat. He decimated the local wildlife around our previous house, but since we moved just over 18 months ago, it seems to be too much effort now. He sits in the garden just watching the birds on the feeders.

Please ignore state of house. Currently undergoing a massive renovation, and last weekend a leak caused half the ceiling to fall down. Luckily work not started downstairs yet!

Not sure why pics won't post, sorry.

My two are both sisters, are both 16. Called Pog and Mamf (bit odd I know :D)

One weighs 1 stone, and the other weighs 1.5 stone, I think this is why they look so youthful for their age!

Amymay, sorry about your cat.

Loving Pog and Mamf, fab cats.

We have two, Maisie is 14/15 and Pusskins is 5. Thought we were going to lose Maisie yesterday, she was horribly sick early morning and looked half dead on the sofa. Thankfully she is ok now.

Lost my old girl aged about 17 earlier this year. So I now have 2 aged 5 ish and an 11 week old kitten :)

Lost our old girl at 17 a couple of weeks ago. Honestly thought she would go on forever but there was obviously something underlying, mass in her stomach, severe arthritis in her spine and she was already on her way out bless her.

I am only allowed 1 now (while hubbies alive)

Over the years

I lost

Mickey to a blood clot aged 13
Mishka 18 to cancer
mich to cancer aged 10
Kassie to RTA age 4
Lysander to RTA age 13

Miss them all so much :(

Amymay sorry to hear your recent loss :(

Our losses have been

Stroke at 12, he was a very weak rescue kitten and we were surprised he made that age.

Sudden heart failure at 12, no idea why, he also came from a rescue.

Gradual heart failure at twelve. She was very inbred, had flu as a kitten and we were surprised she made that long.

Kidney failure at fifteen.

Dementia at sixteen.

I lost my dear Burmese boy a few months ago. He'd been on meds for hyperthyroidism and kidney disease for nearly 4 years, and made it till a few days before his 20th birthday. He just suddenly went downhill in his final fortnight.

I now have two Burmese kittens who are 5 months old. If they live as long as their predecessor, I will be a very old lady looking out a roads full of electric cars!

The lily kittens (TC & Oakley) are 15 months old now. We call them the lily kittens as they were in the news last year after surviving lily poisoning so we started an awareness campaign.

Gizmo is 14 and full of health issues after surviving cat flu as a kitten.

We lost Angel last year, age 15, in the most heartbreaking circumstances. We found her after 5 weeks but it was too late, she fought for two days but then we had to put her to sleep. I'll never get over that whole thing, it was the worst couple of months of my life.
