(Don't know if this has been done already)

So many people have the perception that TBs are all crazy loons to ride. So I thought that all those with versitile TBs could post photos of them on here and see if we can show others what kind, tolerent horses they can be :) Thank you :)

Here's some pictures of my TB (ex-racer) being ridden by 10 and 12 year olds :D

Pictures can be deceiving though as he is usually a loon :p :D :D

Hehe, it was the 10 yr old first time on him and I must admit there were a few heart in mouth moments  She was riding him as if he was a barrel pony

My TB, aged 12, has raced as a youngster and has also been abused. He's a red head as well!! These pictures says more than any words can!!

OH's little sister, 11yo, previously only ever ridden her tiny little ponies and had only sat on my TB a half dozen times prior to this:

(first time on him, and believe me usually his jumping is at ten trillion mph!)
Family friend's daughter (3yo) having a "pony ride":

However he knows when he can step up a gear:

Here's my boy - not very good at posting photo's! He came straight from the track and is the most loving affectionate horse who tries his hardest in anything I ask him to do.

He's just turned 6 and is sane and sensible and a pleasure to own!

Lady-Lou :)
she can be an absolute saint 95% of the time, and likes to keep watch while i take a nap :D
but, typical TB mare can have her 'moody days' and only ever plays up if being ridden by someone other than me.... :)

Thank you for everyones replies so far :) Here's a few piccys of my girly :)

The second ever time she saw a xc jump:

She also hacks with my 10yr old sister, novice BF, is handled by my non-horsey brother and is competed my me! Ex racers are the best :)

All of these horses look great. Could i ask when people are putting up pictures etc could you put you exracers racing name. I worked in racing for 7ish years so i like to see what they are called and then see if i know anything bout them

Mine is called Black Country Lad, born 1995, by Henbit. If you happen to come across any racing piccys of him I would be happy for ever :D (He was pants though so there probably arn't any racing piccys of him out there!).

Exotic Hawk (USA) by Silver Hawk/Seeking the Stars

Came over to train with Henry Cecil but never wanted to go out in front, she really can be a lazy old baggage when she wants to be, but has bred us two lovely foals by Rainbow High

Oh dear, just me with a nutter then...

Mine's 6, ex flat racer. Fab in the school, won't hack, will load but then goes nuts trying to climb back out.

His racing name was Trans Siberian & I'd totally love some photos or footage of him racing if it's possible to find some. He raced 18 times & has won & placed. Can't say who trained him as his passport is at Weatherby's being transferred to my name. Last raced Oct 09.

Mine was a bit of nutter when he was younger but turned into the most laid back horse to handle and ride, though he used to get a little excited when jumping, especially cross county :D He's called Potted Shrimp, came over from US in 2000 and he will have been 11 yesterday :D

oops bit of an overload there :D

can I just say catembi - love your siggie :) I have two ex racers 9 and 3 years old and the 3 year old is far more sensible :)

Firstly Dylan aka Hermitage Court American bred by Out of place by Russian Act

he loves to jump

he shows :)

hes very pretty

Things unfortunately though just fall out of his head one day and he forgets what he is doing - current issue is hacking even though we have hacked the sme routes for the past three years they now are apparently life threatening and he has a good line in a rear and spin :)never mind it wil be something else next week !

and now for the most chilled out three year old :)

This is Rio aka Daft Lad by Danbird out of Stolen Melody

Photo059.jpg

he flirts with himself

Photo066.jpg

he eats (alot !)

Photo0282.jpg

he annoys his big brother alot !

and if we are lucky he sometimes does this :)

Thank you...I will have a good nose when I'm back home. At work atm & the compu is too slow to download vids. Plus I'm s'posed to be working...

As you can see from my sig, a TB is a bit of a culture shock after 7 or 8 years of ISH ownership...!! My ISH Adrian will go anywhere & do anything, but he's broken (got the go-slows) & a £5k vet bill later, still no-one knows why, hence the TB 'project'...

Here is my wild pony looking all stressed about getting clipped.

Very excited about jumping

Uncontrollable at dressage

My boy is called Classic Symphony, I think he was originally known as Elementary Watson (can see why they changed it) but he raced in HK. He is by Rudimentary, out of Alpine Time and is the nicest, cruisiest, easiest horse I have ever owned!!!

Mine is Dr Mcfab by Dr Fong! Won a couple of races over hurdles with AP McCoy I believe.

Thought I'd see if he would load in the trailer yesterday as he's never been in one before (only lorry) and he just ambled straight in as if he's always done it!

This is mine (or tb x something). Very nice natured horse, however very lazy and throws the toys out of the pram when he doesnt want to do something. Loves going to shows, but hates actually having to do anything when he gets there (prefers looking at what everyone else is doing, and eating the grass)

On the plus side, if you have an "emergency" he is as good as gold. Behaves like an angel if taking little kiddie out on pony. And best bit of all, we came across a fallen down tree once on a hack (all leafy and branches everywhere). There was just enough room for him to get through one bit (although you couldnt see it as all the leaves), he just followed me straight through it.

Also done eventing, SJ, dressage, and county level WH (and didnt look out of place against all the expensive horses!)

my 13yo TB is a sensible and versatile one!! pics of him doing his fave thing (XC) in my signature but he also does a decent dressage test (best mark eventing is 25.5) and he can do a SJ round these days with some style and grace.. :o
he is such a laid back dude (can have his TB moments - spooking is one of his fave past-times) that my new trainer was concerned when we went XC schooling recently as he seemed so quiet when not jumping - he was just conserving energy!!
he also won a 'handy pony' competition at an old yard comp a few years ago - so now known as Handy Andy!! :)

mine is 11 this year and is a typical tb. Gentle giant but gets stressy when he cant see other horses and thinks that any dips in the road are out to get him. He has quite a nifty reart/spin combo when he doesnt want to go somewhere and he will play up if you let him. but get him on your side and he is super!

this is my current horse, who is a fantastic hunter, and has just started eventing....

this is one sold we sold a few years ago, that we'd P2Ped then i'd evented

this is my first pointer, who broke down, & i reschooled on the flat, (i've since had 2 children so he does very little as i'm not a big dressage fan)
picture.php

this is another ex racehorse, who was pyscotic when i got him, had put people in hospital etc, etc, he was lovely given some TLC, and i did lots with him, but he always found jumping with people near him a little stressful, and since i've had children i've done nothing with him, as he now has the very important job of being a nanny to our youngsters,
picture.php

other than these i've had a super P2P turned team chaser, & my sisters PC eventer was an ex racehorse some 10 years ago (before they were fashionable.... people thought it very strange!!)

racehorses are so versitile, i'll be having plenty more in the future i hope
