Yesterday there was a fete in the village. Our field was used as the car park, so the field was separated, horses at the back of the field and the cars in the front. The fete started at 12.30, but i didnt go. i got to the field at about 4pm and the fete was ending and cars were leaving. I parked by the shelter half way down the field by the electric fence and got Lady in to feed her. I noticed 2 cars parked near the fence and the people were stood talking. I was just about to let Lady back into the field when i heard "Oi blud, Oi blud! how old is that horse?" i turned round and saw a coloured man shouting over to my OH and he was asking loads of details about the horses. He was asking questions like how old the horses were, how much we paid for them, how much they were worth, who they belonged to etc. I went over and asked what was going on, and he asked me the same questions. He kept asking how much i paid for them and when i asked why he said "just wondering, innit." (imagine a 'proper gangtsa like' guy) I just replied with 'Well....she was £500.....i dunno about the others theyre not mine" and he made a comment "must cost you alot of money innit...." i just said "...right, ok...." and walked off, let Lady out, got my bag and got his car details. I pretended to leave but hid behind the weeping willow tree and watched him. He was sat in his car looking at the horses for at least 20mins before he drove off. He was also with a woman.
I told the other horse owners, the farmer and a woman living in a house opposite the field, gave her my name and number and asked her to let me know if she sees him again (i gave her his car details and what he looked like) The other horse owners asked the farmer if he could park his car over the drive overnight but i dont think he did. Anyway, nothing happened last night, but im still worried. Our gate doesnt have a lock on it atm because there is a public footpath through the field, but we have got a new gate and currently waiting for it to be fitted, along with possibly a kissing gate for the public, so we can padlock the larger gate. Should i be worried?
