I am so sorry that you lost your beloved dogs this year. Please, as everyone has said don't say no to another dog if you feel you can help one. A puppy might be not be ideal but older dogs are so rewarding as you will know. If you own organisation won't allow it I am sure others will. If you can afford to make provision for your dog there are places (like the cinnamon trust) who will ensure a safe non-kennelled home for your dog if you cannot manage or become incapacitated or die. They would likely accept a dog a from France if you could afford the fee to transport etc if needed. We have had a lovely old girlie from them and will have another for our next dog.

It is hard when others don't understand and there is no such thing as "only a dog".

I’m so sorry you lost your much loved companions. I think if you have a back up plan you should most definitely get another dog.
