How to do up a fly veil!?

Hi everyone,
I've finally got my hands on a fly veil for my lad. I've always seen them with quite a short string and just wind it around the the throatlash and do a mini quick release knot through the loop on the other side of it, though this one I've bought has a rather long string on it, maybe about 2ft+ long? 😂 How do you all fasten up your fly veils?

Also to hijack your post- what's a good lightweight fly veil for the hot weather? The one I've got is quite think material

My fly veil has quite a long string on one side and a loop on the opposite side. I just do the string as though it was a throatlash, fed through the loop and loosely tied.

I cut strings off fly veils if they come with them I find they stay in place just fine under the bridle if they are the right size.
