Really not sure how to go about this, me pony is DREADFUL with clippers (pretty bad with most things due to bad start but we're working on it) but currently resembles a polar bear and seeing as we hunt etc and he is in very hard work its not good.
The obvious choice would be sedation, but I know that he sweats up loads sedated so is this just a no? he had his teeth done a couple of months ago and was sedated for it and he was really really sweaty all over so I am guessing this would happen again?
I do want to get him properly desensitised to clippers as he's pretty good at learning things are ok given some time to think about it all (three or 4 weeks hopefully) BUT my clippers are very loud which won't help and I'm really worried about only managing half of him at once then getting stuck! It is a problem I want to sort as will be much more convenient in the long run, just so worried about having a half clipped pony though!
Not sure of best option, but would full sedation given the sweaty situation be a waste of time and money?
Thank you everyone in advance, sorry if I'm just being stupid!
