Roo went on box rest at the start of December. I didnt want her to get stomach ulcers so I fed her adlib hay, and of course, with nothing to use it on, she got fat.
Now, I cut her down to 11kg at night and 3kg in the day. Friend advised I cut that down, so I gradually reduced it to 7kg at night. And then we got to a stage where she could get turned out in a small paddock. So she is in a small paddock from about 8am to 5pm. And last week I started allowing her in the big field for an hour before bringing in, have done that 3 times now.
She is ridden for about 45-60 mins a few times a week, in walk and trot. I cant up that as shes still rehab-ing from an injury.
So I've put her hay down to 6kg over night, and the bare paddock in the day.
How can I get the weight off? Whats the least amount of hay you would feed through the night, I dont want her to get ulcers
