She caught, brought in and stayed with my horse when the hunt PTS. Im extremely grateful, i want to repay her as much as i can without seeming like i paid her. Anyone got any suggestions?

My friend was with my old horse when she was pts (injection) as i didnt have the guts to do it, :-(
I bought her the bigest bunch of flowers i could find! and we had a good cry together!

Gosh, difficult one. Is she someone who might appreciate a bit of pampering? You could get her a voucher for a nice massage or something like that?

Something for her it her horse- numnah, gloves, nice gilet/jumper etc
Or flowers chocs & bag of treats for horse

Thanks, will go and check out a florists. My brain isnt fully functioning today as my mum has gone into hospital for a cancer op today hence lack of inspiration!

Sorry to hear about your horse :(

Does your friends have her own horse? Depending on how much you want to spend you could book her a lesson with her favourite instructor or if she hasn't got a horse you could book one on a school master.

What an awful time your having. I hope all goes well for your mum.
Why don't you treat yourself at the same time (sounds as though you deserve it) and book tickets for you both to go somewhere special.

Sorry to hear you're having such a tough time, both with your horse and your mum.

Sounds to me like chocolate and wine are called for ...

Big hugs for the loss of your horse and even bigger hugs for you and your mum.

Hope your Mum is Ok Rebels & that today went well for both of you..does your friend have a sweet tooth? One of the girls at our curry eves has started up a home made sweet shop & makes the most DELICIOUS fudges & millionaire shortbreads..I'll show you via fb -she's not too far from you either..and if you are still stuck..I can help you on the jewellery front if your friend is a girly girl..I make semi precious gemstone jewellery and could make something specific for her or have lots you can chose from - another friend does professional embroidery so if you got her something horsey & wanted it personalised I can put you in touch with her..or what about a photo of her with her horse or of her horse framed-something special she can keep!

If you worry she may be offended by you buying her something, how about a spa afternoon for two, then you can ask her to go with you, that way you both get some 'looking after' time and you get to repay your friend, while she is helping you out :)

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I went to to florists and got a very pretty Spring bunch, a huge Easter egg and I've booked a xc long ride (7miles!!) for next weekend :-) . Now feeling much more focused as my mum is home after her op.

Sounds ideal, I dealt with a friend's horse recently who was put down by the hunt, she gave me a couple of bags of feed & a bottle of wine, I was chuffed with food! I would have been very happy with what you are giving your friend.
