How would you improve this barn?

It looks fantastic, please please don't worry about the grills - both of my horses absolutely adore having grills (so much so that as soon as they're in the stable they go to the grill to say hello to their neighbours *even before* starting to eat their meal!!). I would never consider stabling them in boxes without grills now!

Ohhhh WOW!
It's stunning!!
If you're not sure maybe you could buy it for me!! :D:D

My horses love the grills too-one particularly doesn't like to be stabled, so if for some reason he does need to be, the grills allow him to see his neighbours and reasurre him abit! And my mare loves giving kisses through it to the foal next door, I wouldn't worry about that!

DH and I are currently looking at horsey properties an hour or so outside the city. While it would be a weekend place for a few years, we'd eventually be there full-time.

I've fallen in love with one place. It's an old home on 4.5 acres, four acres of which are fenced paddocks. The barn is new--three stalls, electricity, hay loft and tack room--but having researched a few threads on American-style barns, I'm starting to wonder if it would require some structural amendments i.e. bigger windows, proper dividing walls. What do you all think?

And one of the paddocks, just for the heck of it :D

Do you have room for me????!!!!

All these reassurances are nice to hear. The barn has a couple more great features: a wash stall (which you can't see in the picture); and automatic fly sprayers. I do like the Americans and their fondness for amenities :D

just beautiful, hope you're going to buy it! it looks absolutely perfect.
re: grilles - some horses love them, some hate the invasion of privacy. I have one mare who doesn't like any other horse looking her, so i've put boarding up along the grille on her stable only (it's an end one anyway) and she settled much better then.
the trail riding sounds ideal as well, I am sooo envious now.

Trust the Americans to get it just right! Can I ask what are automatic fly sprayers? (we're in France and re-thinking our stables so it might be an idea!) Do they have a company name on them I could Google? Thanks!

I shall take a closer look on Sunday and report back. I've ridden at a few different places now, and all the barns have been equipped with these systems. They seem to work well.

A quick google search yielded this company:
