Just been flicking through my 'horse' diary- and i'd forgotten about half of the stuff that i've done with my boys!!
January-
Solo had terrible mud fever and ended up living in 24/7 for about 2 weeks. We didn't own Red then but his owner had gone on holiday, and i discovered that under all the mud, he had two white socks behind!
March-
Went down to the yard one morning to find that Solo couldn't move, and had a hind leg like an elephants. Cue one very panicky phone call to the vet, and an emergency call out, and we found it was Cellulitis. A run of Antibiotics, Bute and a £400 vet's fee's later, Solo was well again.
May-
Solo had his teeth, back and tack checked- his 'spring MOT'!
June-
Got the bf riding! Only little walks out on Red at the time, but he turned up at the yard a week later in boots, chaps and a hat!
July-
Took Solo out showing, winning 2 classes- ridden TB and riding horse. A brill day for us, although it did p**s it down all day!
Sadly, Sol's bessie mate Maitre dropped dead whilst out on excercise a week later- Sol misses him so much. Two weeks later, his other friend,Owen, was PTS due to a leg injury that never came right.
RIP Maitre de Musique and Owen.
August-
We bought Red! Definately one of my highs of this year, we certaintly did get a good bargain!
September-
Had the vet out to do both horses teeth and Sol's booster, and to start Red's vaccinations. Red's teeth hadn't been done in years and he proceeded to nearly knock both me and the vet over.
October-
Completed a Prelim dressage test in the school on Solo- only a small acheivement but it means so much to me. I got my clippers!
November-
Started hunting Red! He's a fab little hunter!
December-
Started riding Sol in a hackamore-so far, so good! Hunting tomorrow on the Redster.
IT's long, i know, but i've had qiute a mixed year!
How's everyone elses being?
