HOYS 2024

I'm just home. Had a great time with the hubbie.

Shopping was a bit naff tbh, mainly fashion and gin. No bargains, I was hoping for reduced fly/sweetitch rugs.

I had paid online for the parking but no real way to prove it, I vaguely showed a screenshot of the order page which didn't have my reg on and they waved me through. I had assumed it'd be license plate recognition.

The husband was floored by the price of beer. £8.50 a pint on the arena concourse! We nipped out to weatherspoons in the interval then realised it's £6.50 from the champagne bar in the shopping or top spec arena.

Most popular food appeared to be pizza.

I'm back tomorrow night with the yard.

Did anyone see what happened to the lad in the fox hunter pony who was disqualified for a fall before he'd even started? I was too busy watching the girl who'd been chucked into the first fence.

What made him fall?

We had a fab day. Watched the workers in Topspec arena then went round the shopping before the main arena. I thought the shopping was okay, I wasn’t looking for anything though. My daughter loved the pony magazine stand that had the Schleich toys and books. The scurry driving and pony club games was the best to watch.

When was the fall? Was that main arena?

Pizza was extortionate for what it was. Didn’t mind the champagne bar prices in the topspec arena. The merchandise stall was extortionate too! We finished with the m&ms before leaving, didn’t really agree with the junior winner but that’s showing for you!

I saw this, what a chaotic couple of minutes!

He came flying into the arena as the first rider was leading her pony out. His pony spooked at something (possibly the water tray jump) and shipped him straight out the side door. Really felt for him having got to that stage and not even getting near the first fence!

I bought one of these hoof picks. Tried it out yesterday and I love it!

That is exactly what I want. £20 for a hoofpick seems extreme, though I think I've only bought 4 hoofpicks in my life so really it'll be fine and make life much easier.

Is getting a hoof pick for Christmas really sad?

Thats so expensive for a hoof pick I just always pick up the wire brush with a handle which is a fiver and just use that after picking out the feet.

And it's wooden so probably won't last year's.

If you want a wire brush on your hoofpick these are a lot cheaper, I just cant remember what the original brand logo is.
