this was yesterday, the first day I've practised the test on him. It's Introductory A.
made a mistake about halfway through because I forgot what I was doing, haha please excuse that!
I'm just basically looking for some pointers on what I'm doing right and wrong, and what I should aim to work on over the next couple of weeks, as I've never done dressage before and can honestly say I haven't got much of a clue!
My reins are too long really and he's quite lazy - but I'm hoping to get the spurs out soon, hopefully! I can use spurs in a dressage test yes? (British Riding Club rules).
Our walk to trot transitions are appauling. Help is much appreciated! The movement is trot then walk for a 'horse's length', then back to trot. How long is a horse's length approximately? At the moment I'm aimlessly guessing
So, I'm looking for some HTIs basically and pointers on what's good (if anything!) and what's bad.
Also, do I need to change my whip over in the test? I often forget so it might just be easier to ride without if it's required to change it over.
- excuse the commentary from my sister! she gets rather bored
Thank you! xx
