Love their stuff but what does this mean? It sounds rather rude to me, but I think I've just got the wrong end of the stick. What does the slogan actually mean before I go buying their lovely t shirt

A quick Google brought this up which explains it:
https://www.huffequestrian.co.uk/product-page/honestriders-no-scope-no-hope-sweatshirt
I took it to mean if a horse doesn't have scope it isn't going to have a hope of winning. I've heard it before but not the "Drop it like it's trot" - it makes no sense to me despite the explanation on the website!
I interpreted it as they are raising money for horses who have owners who are unable to care for them. or they are old, ill or injured. Because they no longer have any 'scope', they have no hope and therefore they need a charity to look after them. Purely my understanding of it, I am happy to be corrected.
No scope no hope is a show jumping phrase, I like it, its true, your horse has no scope, youve got no hope!
Drop it till its trot is just a play on the phrase drop it like its hot from the song. Makes a simpleton like me laugh![]()
No hope for me - £45 for a sweatshirt! I nearly fell off my chair...![]()
A lass at my old yard has EVERYTHING emblazoned with 'gob on a cob' in huge white writing, tshirts, hoodies, saddlepads etc. Just in case you miss it on one item of clothing/ tack it's plastered on everything else... makes me cringe a bit
I think it's also quite a jokey phrase. If you look at the #noscopenohope hashtag on instagram, it's full of people who have talented horses, and using it in an ironic way. I love their stuff, quickly filling my wardrobe up with it.
eugh yes sounds similar. just why?! it's not even funny!
I hadn't heard of these before - but there's a shop near me that sells matchy sets with the most hideous expressions on them, e.g. "my cob is a nob" and #**** (I'm sure the forum is going to censor this for me, you'll have to take my word that it is a word for female genitalia beginning with T). Makes me cringe that people would want to go round with that emblazoned on their poor horse. I've had to unfollow them, I just find it in such bad taste. I'm not easily offended, and probably swear too much, but really? Having swear words all over your horse's saddlecloth, fly bonnet etc? Lacks class somewhat!
I think I know what shop you are on about as I see it plastered all over facebook regularly. It's awful and so unclassy. Do people actually buy it????

I don't know, from memory people seem to "like" the photos and tag friends and think it's funny. I was going to check out that shop but after seeing all that sort of rubbish being put on Facebook every day, it's put me off!
I've just checked fb and if its the same company based somewhere in the midlands then I had an awful experience buying something that was faulty off them. I don't recommend!
I thought the source was apparent, but... for a play on words to make sense and be funny it actually has to still mean something. Otherwise it's just a pile of words...
