When clipping a hunter clip on your horses, what do you do with the face?

Mine has her head left flooofy, the clip goes to just behind her ears from her cheek. It would look neater if she'd allow me to clip at least half her face but y'know you tell a gelding and ask a mare!
ETA when I had her clipped by a pro it was a kind of wiggly line about two inches south of her ears that left the pro mumbling and blushing and offering discount. For some reason the daft mare thinks that her ears are safer in the hands of a total beginner!
With a bit more practice we now have a pretty decent half head that follows the line of the bridle.
