Hunter Clip

Half head even when fully clipped because pony does not like it and it's a struggle to even get half done.
Think still trying to rear with a full tube of sedalin. With a hunter clip I'd always leave half the head on anyway.

This is Alfs preference...

I prefer to take the whole head off - especially if they are particularly fluffy. If I do a half head, I use their bridle to decided where to clip the line -can't bear a clip line above or below!

full head for the first 2 or 3 clips, then half face once its less fluffy! although I do take off the full face sometimes if the weather is mild enough as it looks much smarter. I do similar with the legs too depending on the weather.
This is my boy the day after a full clip, I think the full face looks very smart :)

I have to say though, on lighter colours I think a half face looks a bit better, not sure why but that's just my opinion.

Half head if horses go out a lot, if not head off (especially if hunting), legs on, saddle patch (and it has to be saddle shaped, not just a random patch).

Head left au natural on mine - can't clip her head unfortunately! I'd do half a head if she'd let me though, but don't fancy my chances trying since clipping her neck is dicey.

Half head- not always in the right position! Legs left and a saddle patch left

Haven't got any recent photos- my clips are slowly improving, this was her first time :)

Heads all off up to Christmas and legs and saddle patch on for the boys. Usually just do half head head after that especially the tricky ginger one. Cob has head and legs off but keeps saddle patch on until end of season and then it comes off!!

Mine has her head left flooofy, the clip goes to just behind her ears from her cheek. It would look neater if she'd allow me to clip at least half her face but y'know you tell a gelding and ask a mare!

ETA when I had her clipped by a pro it was a kind of wiggly line about two inches south of her ears that left the pro mumbling and blushing and offering discount. For some reason the daft mare thinks that her ears are safer in the hands of a total beginner!

Half head and legs left on. No saddle patch or owt on the racehorses! All off! Some obviously have hairy patches on elbows, flanks, near the ears et al but at the end of the day it's me that looks stupid for not doing the job properly but I don't always have the luxury of getting the horses sedated as and when needed. I have been known to do some 'clip and dive for cover' styles!

With a bit more practice we now have a pretty decent half head that follows the line of the bridle.

I tried a half head, but mine gets ridiculously sweaty ears and it drips off his brows, which irritates him. So he's had it all off and is much happier for it!
