As the title really... I have previously only had back or shoulder pain riding but now I seem to get niggly ankle and medial knee pain. I was wondering if anyone had found a change of stirrup helped?
whereas I and my stupid wiggly ankles find the stability of a big wide tread that doesn't move to be the best... I have Jins on my saddles (cheap knock-offs are available )
Would suggest you try a few different ones if you can.
I find for the ankle good supportive long boots do the job! Thankfully my pop in and outty knees are reasonably well behaved in the saddle! My knees have been less sore generally since I changed to a saddle with decent knee rolls though
my current health means i have had to stop riding but I found the springy stirrups helped but also a good supportive riding boot helped my peroneal tendons no end. I switched to a non springy stirrup with a wide based tread and found that even better. My knees stopped subluxing when dismounting lol
I actually struggle with long boots as I need a wide toe to take my granny insoles and I also like the support of a steel shank but I am blessed with ridiculously skinny ankles none I have tried so fair are supportive enough.
It seem I need to trip sprung stirrups and wide ones.
