Hope this is ok to post, as above really I am a wobbleberrie! This is a challenge set up to compete at BE80 next season for people who have never evented and arent very close to doing so right now itis going to be a big challenge! but its for one of the most inspirational people Hannah Francis so I know I can do it. And Im going to give it everything

https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Catherine-MartinBE80T

Above is the link to my justgiving page I would really appreciate anything anyone can spare to sponsor me for this wonderful cause and hopefully one day #kickcancersbutt!!

I will be updating regularly once we start training etc which isnt far away! ahh!! so please follow my journey if you would like to.

You can also text CATM49 £5 to 70070 if you wish to donate £5 or do not have internet access, you can donate any amount online

Thank you

Good luck! Have you chosen which 80 you're going to do? You've got a fair choice in your area. West Wilts is nice and Treborough (so I'm told, not been there myself).

Wow! That's amazing. I love the idea of the Wobbleberry challenge but unfortunately do not fit the entry requirements! I am very excited for you... I have literally £2 in my bank account at this point (too much month and the end of my money!) but will donate that... Not a lot but it's all I have left!!!! I will hopefully be donating more to Wobbleberry pages in the future as I think it's a brilliant challenge. I'm so excited to see the outcome. Eventing is the best thing in the world and it's amazing that so many people are conquering their fears to raise money for a worthy cause. Again sorry for the measly donation...

Well done. Me too, I think there will be a lot of us who have applied. They've had an overwhelming response apparently. Core wobblers will be those with the biggest challenges to overcome, so not sure if I'll qualify for that but I feel like it's a fairly meaty challenge for me.

Thank you all for your comments. Yes I have jumped a little bit before but my horse has never done it and is still very green. Couple of nasty falls recently have left me having a bit of a confidence crisis which I'm working hard at having a problem hacking at the moment just can't face it. But I will get over it and get going to achieve this goal. With regards to venues looking at pontispool treborough or Bicton at the moment. I would like to try and do a couple so I can raise as much as I can.

Rosie's mum and toitnot thanks ever so much for your donations. Every penny makes a difference to someone's life or chances of recovery so thank you!!

Good luck.
Friend of mine is doing this.
He is late 50's and despite being around his daughters horses for the last 20 years he has not sat on one until this challenge.
I donated him a pair of long riding boots to get started with. Probably get involved with some of his later training as well. Going to be an intense year :o

I'm one too :)

Terrified but a little bit excited at the same time!

Perhaps those of us that are can help to support each other through our wobbles (I am going to have quite a few I imagine)

Me too, although I believe technically we're all pending confirmation when the dates close and groups are being sorted out. Definitely not a core wobbler, but I have some plans for fundraising and I too think it's a substantial enough challenge as it is. Although for the total novices I'd hope they have access to an experienced horse...

I too have a justgiving page, but I'm not sure about publicising it before things are all confirmed.

Have filled in my form and sent it back. Then received an email with some info but i still don't know much about it all and don't think I've committed to anything formally!??
OP- what is the training? this is all stuff i need to know before committing- times/cost etc involved and how flexible it all is! I struggle with time in winter especially and need to know such info first really as I'm a bit worried i cant actually afford weekly training etc

its all to be confirmed for definite, but if you have had an email in the last day or two i believe that you are in. Poiutrewq if you are struggling for time in the winter i dont think it should be too much of an issue but worth filling forms in and see what they are.

Anything is possible!!

I say this sitting with a bruised coccyx and very sore back after my darling pony dropped me for no reason!! not a good start!!

Oh ouch! That hurts! Hope you recover quickly!
Well yes I've form filled etc but like I say undecided and tbh don't even have a horse yet!!!!

I can answer some of this. No, logically you can't be formally committed to anything because there's a buy in of £20 at some point before it's all finalised, and for you to get your welcome pack. This is in the Word doc of further details emailed out the other day.

The training, as far as I'm aware, is all optional - I'm fairly certain I was told this in a PM. Being a bit fussy about trainers and not necessarily rolling in spare cash, I wouldn't be involved if I were committed to a lot of training I didn't have any option in! I'm saying this entirely without authority, but my contact with them suggests they're fairly flexible about how you go about it. The commitment you're really making is to endeavour to raise as much money for charity as you possibly can - and hopefully hitting up a BE80(T) at the end of it, if it's safe and sensible to do so.

Brilliant congratulations fellow wobblers! Jftd you obviously know more than I do but I'm just following on from emails I have and putting a training plan together myself with a couple of instructors.

Might be good to all keep touch wobblers? I'm based in Somerset where are you guys?

Me too- massive confidence issues to overcome and the thought of competing makes me sort of forget to breathe... if I'm not classed as the core group I'll still be doing my hardest to fundraise and get my biggest brave pants on- it's something I have always wanted to do but I am quite terrified! Good luck everyone!

Me too - zero confidence, fat, unfit and forties, never competed. I can't quite believe that I've not only signed up, but am looking forward to it all...all while being absolutely terrified! :D

I have just submitted the online application. If I do manage to get to compete I would probably have the slowest XC in the history of eventing!

That's great that you're doing it Mike! Miss your reports. And I will surely beat you for the slowest XC - I can do 80 in trot no?

Thanks for the encouragement. Its not going to be easy. The fall four years ago has left me with only one properly functioning lung so I get out of breath quickly my Plan is to loose enough weight so that I am not burning the oxygen so fast and maybe if Bob the notacob doesnt pull too hard I can do a few fences without stopping to get my breath back. Also I hope that if I am slimmer ,I might feel more in control and have a bit more nerve. Well this is my masterplan .

we all have issues to overcome, i have confidence, fitness and an extremely green horse!! And currently a bruised coccyx and ripped muscles and ligaments in my back yey!!

Good luck to you all, we are all spread so far out somerset to scotland to wales!!

Wobbleberries are go!!

I'm a wobbler too! Have started a weight loss plan. Sponsorship money is coming in....... And have just realised I have never done a course of show jumps, even as a child. Eeeeek!

Hows everyone getting on? Im a wobbleberry too and struggled getting back into jumping after my horse recovered from colic surgery last year - she's still pretty high maintenance. Just done a couple of competitions since I joined up and we are now doing 60 and 70 showjumping with a view to hopefully get to 75 by Xmas. 80 scares me but most compeitions are 70 or 80! Anyhoo I need to get on with it as we need to be 80 high and 80 wide (eek) by next year. xxx
