I am sorry, posters.

Very sorry posters but i do not read long rambling posts and i suspect alot of others don't either. Please keep it short and sweet and to the point.

I think, if that is the case, you may be on the wrong forum, you need moderators and diction police I suspect. If you don't like the length of a thread and choose not to read on then that's your choice, but until there are rules to say "Keep it short and sweet" then long is going to happen...still reading?

Who, exactly, are you anyway to dictate what length people make their posts?

Possibly your lack of opinion doesn't bother anyone anyway, if you don't reply they will never know you had anything valuable to say, and won't miss your opinion one way or the other because you didn't give it, almost as if you didn't exist.

Perhaps you would feel more comfortable someplace else?

What a very strange thing to complain about though

Queenbee. No particular post, certainly not directed at any one member. My statement was a culmination of frustrated surfing. It really was meant as a "is it just me" sort of question. Certainly ruffled a few feathers.

I doubt it's just you, but you seem to be actually instructing people on how to post :D That's the odd bit.

I don't somehow get the impression that a lot of TFC's time on here is taken up by waffly posts though, I think there are usually more pressing issues :D :D :D

Well then in the words of watserface off Bigbrother 'Who IS she, who IS she?'

ETA........Orrrrrrr

She IS TFC's OH and he is using big waffly posts as an excuse to keep out of her way, and who can blame him, what a bossypants!

Sod of a phone... Alot of words!

No, no QB - I liked the original use of 'alot' :)

On a more serious not OP I think there are many who might agree with you. I don't think you intended to offend and although there are some raised eyebrows on here I don't think you have offended. but I hope you can take some pride in having started a v entertaining thread which has kept me amused through a horrible late night at work, so thank you :)

Quite right :)

Bet that's more like it! :D

(Love you really fatty!)

I reckon she is TFC's other half and is worried about the time he has to spend on here. ;)

No that's me! He better not be cheating on me but then again being such a stud it's a big possibility especially with some of the really nice sane posters you get like Sue12345:D

Bernster. Thank you, I certainly did not intend to offend but people have certainly shot me down inflames. Origional post was a request not an order. So glad though that some including yourself have been kept amused, althought that too was not my intention.

You haven't been "shot down in flames", you've been mildly mocked for telling people how to post. Maybe not your intention but that's how it read :D

Very entertaining thread! I've been giggling here.
Now, I DO think that Sue has a point.
I'll explain: I do like the more succinct replies, but only IF they make a point (some are a bit obscure in their briefness!). I agree that amymay has it spot on.
I also really enjoy reading the long posts. I may sometimes speed read, but get the gist, and may also at times take in every word. Depends.
Sue does have a point in that SOME of the long posts are so devoid of any punctuation, or paragraphs, often both, that it makes them very very hard to read, and I give up entirely.

Gosh, what alot (lol) of useless waffle there is on here ;)
Sueonetwothreefourfive, you seem to have started a poo storm :D
Night all x

bacon butties instead?

*resists the urge to type a long responce about people winging about the content of a FORUM*

see op ^^^ theres your give a way.. its a f o r u m.

*shakes head *:D:D:D:D

Oh, what a thoroughly enjoyable thread. I love the link to Hyperbole and a half and have saved it to read properly later on. There are so many witty members on HHO - some are so sharp they are in danger of cutting themselves.

Wish I was that clever! Or is that I just that my attention span is too short, like the OP?

ALSO!
Did nobody else laugh at Sue12345's username?
I think that five numbers is ridiculous amount to lengthen a name by and simply "Sue" would have more than sufficed!

Maybe there were already 12344 Sues? ;) :D

I try to keep my posts concise, but sometimes background and detail are needed. I do try to use lots of paragraphs and keep the waffle down, but sometimes they're long despite my best efforts. :o

Whether I read long posts depends on several things:

How much time I have.

Whether I'm interested in the subject.

Whether there are paragraphs and a reasonably readable writing style.

Have I gone over my allocated number of words? :p
