Just passing through...
I was a twit.
Dizz hardly ever spooks these days and she's good in high winds. I know this and today, even though she had grown to eighteen hands and was spooking like a silly one, I ignored it.
Cantering in the school next to the trees... Fist massive spook unseated me... Second one saw me going out the side door
. Poor D has never run so fast - I was trying to get up, but the muscles were most unimpressed (I landed on my back). Dizz was very rude and bobbed off the the field gate
. D retrieved her and I got back on. Then I rode as I should have done from the beginning and she went grand
. I knew my nemesis would be cantering, so we did a few on each rein
.
I should have ridden how the horse needed on the day, not as I know how she usually goes. I do it other times as to how energetic or otherwise shes feeling, but today I got it wrong
For those not in the know, I have had Dizz (16.3 DWB) for three years - so far I've come off once a year, silly falls each one, but first time I suffered a bleed on the brain and the second one I broke my back, so to fall off and be battered (and stiff as an old board!), but not properly broken is something to write about lol
