I was a twit.

Dizz hardly ever spooks these days and she's good in high winds. I know this and today, even though she had grown to eighteen hands and was spooking like a silly one, I ignored it.

Cantering in the school next to the trees... Fist massive spook unseated me... Second one saw me going out the side door :eek:. Poor D has never run so fast - I was trying to get up, but the muscles were most unimpressed (I landed on my back). Dizz was very rude and bobbed off the the field gate . D retrieved her and I got back on. Then I rode as I should have done from the beginning and she went grand :D. I knew my nemesis would be cantering, so we did a few on each rein :D.

I should have ridden how the horse needed on the day, not as I know how she usually goes. I do it other times as to how energetic or otherwise shes feeling, but today I got it wrong :o

For those not in the know, I have had Dizz (16.3 DWB) for three years - so far I've come off once a year, silly falls each one, but first time I suffered a bleed on the brain and the second one I broke my back, so to fall off and be battered (and stiff as an old board!), but not properly broken is something to write about lol :D:D:D

Indeed TU :cool::D:D

I'm sure an old lady like me should know better...:o:D

Ta JM - sadly I think the chances are limited :o. Serves me right! Meant to be boarding a ceiling tomorrow! Oops...

glad to hear you came off lightly today:D:D:D Clipped and rode my boy today first time since May I have had something big and hairy between my knees Ha Ha Didnt realise how much I had missed the wind between his ears Great Feeling :D:D:D

Thank you P63 :D. I am indeed. Just can't reach m'toes - always thought it an over-rated pastime anyways :D:D

FS - ta :D. Guess it had to happen sometime lol. I think I'm just in denial throughout the whole process lol :D

I'm getting the hang of it YR :D. Wayyayayayay to you getting on :D:D:D:D

Thank goodness you're ok Mrs M!! Honestly, I thought I was bad at unscheduled dismounts but yours are epic on the injury scale :eek:

Here's hoping that a hot bath and some wine are all you need to recover from this one x

Please be careful! You don't need another injury!
On a brighter note, it will be good for your confidence knowing your ok after a fall.
I broke my back last year too, started riding in march again. My confidence is getting back to what it was, not keen to fall again though.
I will try to avoid it!
Im glad you are ok, be careful!!!

Ouchie!! Glad you're alright!
I find the scariest bit is when you're in mid-air! Once you hit the ground, you know you're not dead, but in mid-air, you can never be sure XD haha!

Sorry to hear that, but falling off and not injuring yourself is impressive! Teach me that skill please?! :D *Am currently a little bit broken from falling off!* Fingers crossed you're okay this morning :)

Oh dear Mrs M - thank goodness you are ok. Hopefully 2012 will be an accident free year for you!
Hope you are not too stiff and sore this morning - maybe give her a lunge instead of riding today if you're feeling a bit wobbly?

Thanking you kindly!

Hope ouching bits aren't too ouchy. Hugs.

No malt, though maybe I should take it up - woken up with a stonking headache so would have been nicer to have a reason for it, lol :D:cool:

Not too bad this morning, can bend down much better, but can't twist. Going to have a pottering about day, whilst D1 does the neds and takes the Dizz for a hack :D

Sending D out for Radox as we appear to have run out!

Oh Mrs M - glad you are ok, although possibly a bit sore. Now just because you know you can launch yourself off and still bounce does'nt mean you should do it on a regular basis! :D x

Rofl S :D. With an ar&e this size, I didn't so much bounce as more lay there like a moribund whale :rolleyes::D.

I'll try not to make a habit of it (launching or whale impressions) :D:D:D

Practise makes perfect!!!
Congratulations on learning ow to fall off safely! You didnt even have to go to jocky school to have the lessons! They really do teach you how to fall safely there - crash mats and everything!!

Thank you all kindly :D :D :D :D

I strongly recommend - heat, bath, Radox, gentle exercise (and definitely not trying to move a wheelbarrow from the wrong end lol).

I feel that hot chocolates all round are the order of the day :D

Mrs M, glad to hear that you are in one piece and not too sore today. In a strange way its a nice feeling when you realize that nothing is broken or to painfull,we need to learn to bounce better, here is hoping that you will not have to bounce again for a while take care :)
