But you're a Carpal Tunneler!!! You can't POSSIBLY have a high post count and manage to hold down a job, let alone look after neddies!! Which reminds me, I must sell mine since I haven't got time to post on HHO AND look after them...

Anyway what kind of person has the time to make 13 posts a day (assuming they post every single day of the year) and rack up 25,000 posts. Makes you wonder if they even have horses - how on earth do they get the time?

*Waves* That would be me. I believe I average over 20 posts a day, and I even manage to go on holiday without a computer. How dare you pass judgement on how I pass my time? It's none of your beeswax.

I have a pet theory that some of them are employed by H&H just to stir things up.

And I have a theory that you're full of it

Perhaps you should provide some evidence to support your theory, eh?

ETS: As I'm so idle and have nothing better to do, I actually worked out my average post counts and it's 19 a day. Dammit, I'm slipping. I must start skipping work so I can bump it up a bit and increase my HHO 'cred'

You 'n' me both hun

, though I have to admit to not having worked out my average - damn. Must try harder!

What size rug does the pony need? I'm sure I'll have one that will fit (after all, I don't own any horses, just spend my days on HHO and buying rugs

).

Q/R

Taking away the bereavement / being dumped on by said friend etc,

This ponies welfare should be priority?
Buy it a cheap rug instead of moaning about not being paid etc,

You offered to look after it - fair enough for money that you havnt been paid but it does seem that as you havnt been paid you wont look after?

Granted its being fed hay by you but if its so damn cold just get it a rug - 2nd hand ones on ebay are about £5??

Well, I did it for you... You've been on HHO for 515 days and made 13283 posts (so far) which averages out at 25.8 posts a day. Clearly you're unemployed and possibly scrounging on benefits to manage such a prodigious post count. I dare say you neglect your family and pets as well

Sorry for your loss OP, having lost both my parents I know how awful it is. Because of your mum's death I don't believe you are thinking straight and I am sure, under normal circumstances, you would have put the pony's welfare before £10 a week.

However, I am very glad that the owner is picking up this little mite today, I am glad I did not read this yesterday as I would have been thinking about the poor old soul out alone in the wet.

I know that you felt you had been taken for a mug (and in some ways you were) but sadly, by taking on the pony you did owe her a duty of care. Personally, as she was losing condition, I would have bought her a rug (cheap as chips on ebay) and then billed the owner, who apparently feels bad enough to come and pick the pony up earlier than originally arranged AND pay you any monies outstanding.

The owner is picking up the pony this morning

Oh good news. What a relief for you. I hope they pay you the outstanding livery costs.

Good luck to the little pony.

A neighbour had a friends ponies grazing on their land. One had really bad sweet itch, despite repeated requests for the owner to do something it was left untreated. In the end my neighbour called the vet and got it treated and then bought a sweet itch rug for it, and told the owner they owed her the money.
I can sympathise with the OP as I lost my mum last year, but do think ultimately the pony was her responsibility. I'm glad things have now been resolved though, I hope the owner looks after the poor pony properly now.
