Without getting a static shock

It was very ouchy! Not sure what was going on but I tried a good few times to touch her and kept getting zapped, she didn't seem to notice it

Anyone experienced anything like this?

The pointers use to wear rambo's with liners and some of them used to give me an electric shock. I think it's the nylon rubbing together.

I had the same thing from my horse last week. took his turnout off to groom him and every time I touched him we both got a shock! Even though he is a tb he does have a reasonable coat on him, especially on his belly and shoulders and you could see the static as soon as i took his rug off!

Some of the horses here have started getting static-y coats, I thought it was to do with moulting but it's not all of them, the ones with more silky coats it seems

I had a similar problem with my friends cat yesterday. Everytime he came for a fuss and his nose touched my hand we both jumped, in the end he smacked me with his paw!

I kept giving mine an electric shock last week as was wearing a cashmere jumper under a fleece as was so cold and something in that combo created loads of static. Maybe something in the air today as my hairdresser had static in her hair everytime she touched it today - thankfully when she touched me I was fine!

Years ago I had the wise idea to buy a hood to stop my cob rubbing his mane out. I put it on one night and well...............the lady who turned them out in the morning called me at 7am as she had gotten it half way off his head, but every time she touched it or moved it it was giving them BOTH static shocks! Horse was freaked out as he now had it over his eyes, but every touch freaked him out.
I had to drive to get it off him before work - was fun explaining why I was late. And I actually was static for the rest of the day.

First and last time I ever used one of them!

Think it must be weather. I used to loan a horse out in Atlanta, Georgia, and this gappened all the time there. It's never happened much in uk. Howver we've had a cool dry spell here, last few days so i reckon its this.

I sometimes get zapped, or hear a crackle, when taking the rugs off when they have their liners on. And get it with fleeces too.
