i dont get it?? why advertise a horse and then not answer your phone!

ok, this happened to me last week when i rang about a horse and the only mobile number up they dont answer or is switched off. I managed to get hold of the partner and was told i would get a call back asap as we are local and were keen to see her. didnt hear anything so tried ringing back. my friend rang and was told she had been sold the evening we tried to ring. thats fine! im pleased for them but why couldnt they just say sorry shes sold rather than me trying them the whole morning the next day...

just ringing up about another. the advert was updated yesterday . first time round the phone wasnt even switched on and now its just rings to answer phone! if the horse is sold is it to much to ask to just be told sorry the horse has been sold? i dont think so, i have had to say this to people when iv advertised before now.

i really dont get it. and now its happened twice im even more confused! Do people not want to sell them? i know of some that are struggling to even get a phonecall.

The first one was a shame, and not very polite, but do you actually know that the second one is sold too? I've only got a mobile, and have to switch it off at work etc, so the phone is not always answered, even when I sold a horse. I would always get back to people who call though. Equally you get people who ring to enquire about a horse, take ages of your time quizzing you, then don't ring back when they say they will - C'est la vie really.

I would say that they have already sold/ have someone interested or arent selling any more.
If I really wanted to sell and had to turn my phone off regularly I would say so on the ad.

I know someone having the same problem but she is looking for the old age favourite of a RC allrounder and they seem to be snapped up within minutes sometimes.

Do you ring on a withheld number? I never ever answer them, i always think if its something important or they need to speak to me they will leave a message (i do always ring back though).

i don't answer my phone when i'm driving, cooking tea, riding, at work in the bath or asleep! oh and for a whole week about 2 weeks ago as the local mast was out of order so i had no decent signal when at home, daughters pony was up for sale at the time so could have been lots of people trying to get me who wouldn't have got any answer
