To have such a gorgeous horse and live in a beautiful part of the country.

Now almost 6 weeks into box rest and controlled walking in hand; up to 20 minutes twice a day now which is great as we can explore some of the cool places on the estate.

This is Newark castle, a tower house dating from the early 15th century. It has a fairly gory history, as do a lot of the castles in the area.

Sorry, left this full sized as I love it :)

I know he's old, I know he's 'broken' but I wouldn't swap him for anything in the world :)

Tonight's walk I think may take us round one of the lochs, lots of wildlife (including red squirrels) to look out for.

OMG what a gorgeous picture that 2nd one is.... very jealous indeed, he looks fab actually.

did you photoshop the leadrope out or was he actually standing there??

Thank you. He's done a fair bit of Trec in his time so knows what 'stand' means; no leadrope needed. Fairly amazing after 6 weeks box rest that he still actually does it though!

Well he is the most gorgeous 'hairy yak' I have seen in a long time! Such a beautiful boy.

Honestly though, your 2nd photo is stunning.

That picture of him standing there has brought tears to my eyes, he so reminds me of my lovely old ginger boy who i lost two years ago!
I still miss him terribly. Beautiful picture!

Six weeks box rest and he is doing a stand/stay????!!!!!!!!!

He is BY FAR the best behaved horse on HHO! :)

:) The fact I can even lead him out in a headcollar is impressive; wouldn't be trying that with anything else! He is a doddle to handle, a real gentleman.

I still miss him terribly. Beautiful picture!

It has made me quite emotional too, which isn't like me  :o

Sorry about your ginger boy, I don't know what I would do without T :(

You could even use it as your Christmas/Holiday card, it's that special. I'd be thrilled to receive it!

I use a photo of one of my animals each year, with an appropriate bit of verse. Lots of fun...
