Well of course she will never be THE lickle ex-racehorse because that's fully taken up by a certain ginger pony.

Basically the idea was when i got Major i brought him on and eventually sell him, and well that never happened. So when this little mare came along i thought she was at least worth a look. She's a 15.2 (very teeny weeny!) 7yo dappled grey thoroughbred. She raced twice as a youngster, before doing some hacking and a bit of in hand showing then spending 4 years looking pretty on the yard :D

The yard she's at is where she was bred, and i know the lady who has looked after her all her life so they have agreed i can have her on a 2 week trial at my yard starting Thursday and if she's sound and sane i'll take her on with the idea being to sell her. I know horses aren't selling but i have a friend in mind who she will be perfect for once re-started, and i'm more focused on giving her a chance as her future may be un-certain if she doesn't find a home now. Here she is when i first went to see her, dragged in from the field looking rather... dirty!

I did everything you can to an un-rideable horse when you go to view them, she seems very sweet and seems to have a kind heart so let's see how our 2 weeks go!

So there you are, lickle ex-racehorse project #2!!! Let's see if this one turns out as well as the first ;)

Hee hee! Let's see if you can sell this one or if she will stay also ;).
She looks very pretty, a little like my late mare :).

Good luck , she looks lovely , ( lovely is as lovely does ) but it's not like you haven't done all this race horse re-hab before , hopefully it'll be a walk in the park and a secure future for the little mare..

Thanks everyone, she is a real sweetie.

Paddy irish - that really is my aim, not so much to make money just to give her a better future. I know how many dealers and such they've had ringing about her, god knows where or who with she'd end up and how many un-suitable homes she'd find herself in. Hopefully with the little bit of knowledge i've picked up from major i can help to secure her a happy, healthy future. I will only sell her if i can be sure she's going to be looked after, hence why i have someone i know in mind.

Sounds like you are being sensible and have your head screwed on. Well done you.

She looks lovely :)...If you have her you will have to think of a forum name for her, as she can't be called 'lickle ex-racehorse' - lol!

Thank you :)

I know i will do, her racing name is supposedly 'Wildfire' although i can't find any info on her under that name, and the friend of mine who showed me her wasn't actually sure that was it! Her stable names is currently 'Babes'...

I figure so long as i don't change her 'real' name, changing her stable name won't give me bad luck will it?

No I think you can change stable names without bad luck :D. Otherwise I am stuffed!

How about Twiggy - as that's a tiny bit like Lickle :). Lol!

Keep us posted.
