Pointless post really, but my puppy has recall
grin.gif

Ok so it is on the lunge line, and it's not always instant, BUT it's better than what he had before!
grin.gif

I just give him three pips on the whistle, and his head turns and he trots back
grin.gif
I am sooooooooooo pleased!
grin.gif

So just need to work on it a little bit more, and he can start to have a bit more freedom

Show off

My two have NO idea what recall is

Although Zalacca came to the yard today to take pics of me and Bob (thank you Zalacca

) and the greyhounds had a fab time tearing around the XC field with her labrador
grin.gif
- and we did get all three back at the end, which was a result

oh so jealous!!! Im waiting to get my recall whistle from the dog trainer but can't wait until we can let them off the leads, they have far too much energy for just walking! What breed is your pup and how long did it take to teach it?

He is a Springer Spaniel, nearly 8 months old now. When we got him at 5 months old, he had, had no training whatsoever! Outsidehewas just wild, paid no attention to us. So we have had him on the lunge line for 2 months and it seems to have worked!

I have a 2.5 dog whistle for him, but I keep forgetting it, so I have been just whistling him with my mouth!
grin.gif

Mine are springer x collie. My boys very good and ALWAYS willing to please (makes me look very good at puppy classes
wink.gif
) but my girlie showed me up today
mad.gif
She is bad at heel work and we have just started a new technique to try and help but today she just lay down and wasn't having any of it! very stubborn girl! (and very embarrassed mum
frown.gif
) Im rubbish at whistling so mine would just be off like a flash! We are only on our 2nd week of recall on the lunge line so we have a bit of time yet!

Here you go...

With his rat..
Photo0029.jpg

Obviously the sofa with the back cushions pulled down is much more comfy than his bed!
grin.gif
(The rat is his new favourite toy, hence it's presence once again!)
Photo0051.jpg

And his shiny £4 bargain rug!
Photo0044.jpg

That better!?
tongue.gif

Otto loves his rug!
grin.gif
It has been ideal, we walk along country lanes, and when it's a bit grey and murky it's nice to know he can be seen!
He has a mini thermatex too, for cold days when he has to sit wet in the back of the car whilst I'm at the yard!!
grin.gif
But he doesn't mind that, because his rough tough gundog Uncles all have them too!
grin.gif

It is actually a Thermalux from Aerborn, but the same thing, it only cost £4 in their sale
grin.gif

If you do want one and aren't sure about sizing, Otto's is an XXM, and he is 20 inches (ish) from just behind his collar to the base of his tail.

LMAO!! Popple has the same rug for when running by the river in the mornings with the rowers - there's so many bikes high viz is essential
grin.gif
and she is renowned amongst the coaches who have to dodge her!
grin.gif
grin.gif

She also has a very similar new toy that is a giggling elephant that my mother insists is rather creepy
blush.gif
grin.gif
And following her massive walk today is asleep on her favourite spot, upside down on the sofa
grin.gif
grin.gif

Otto is looking more gorgeous than ever. They are clearly a match made in heaven!!

Just think of what stunning little pups they would have!!

Henmeister I have to ask why your woosy dog needs a coat at all, let alone two?
tongue.gif
I thought he was meant to be a roughy toughy working spaniel?
grin.gif

My two "thugs"
mad.gif
are allowed coats of course because they are delicate little flowers with no body fat

My Parent's dogs all have the thermalux rugs for when they go in the car wet and cold after working all day, Otto didn't want to feel left out so I got him one!
grin.gif
tongue.gif

The HiViz is ideal for walking him in the grey drizzley weather we've been having, his walks during the week are around the lanes near your yard and I've heard there's a nutter in a red peugeot about
tongue.gif

And look how cute he looks in them
