My partner was pulled over for having no insurance. He had taken out temp insurance, and taxed it a few days previously. The cops rang his insurance company, as their system said he had none, and good old direct line said he wasn't insured! Cops were having a field day, until partner got involved and spoke to woman, who then agreed he was insured. Anyone who says these companies never make mistakes has never had to deal with there incompetance. Don't give up on this, if you can prove it has been paid for fight it all the way, but be prepared to fight, and write lots of letters.
Good luck
Thankyou, zaminda! The cops tried to call his insurance company that night but their line is only 9 to 5 and this was about 8pm.
Annoyingly he had a 20 minute conversation this morning at £1 a minute with her going round in circles saying they'd phoned him, then hadnt phoned him, then emailed him despite him saying he hadn't received an email. Unfortunately we didnt have time to hang around arguing as i had to go to work and i'd had a call that my appy was wearing his rug round his ankles so OH had to go and rescue him. Hopefully we can have round two with the incompetent woman on monday morning!
