...and I can't be bothered to ride today either, and its the first dry ish day we've had for ages!
What's wrong with me?! I've completely lost my mojo this week! He's going to be a right nutter by the time I get my butt round to taking him out!
Am I the only one? Please tell me I'm not alone!

I havent ridden since 4th dec!! Purely because i wanted to let the newbie settle for a week or so then the heavens opened, then christmas and today i'm working. Ah well, i dont feel so bad knowing my boys are probably feeling somewhat disgruntled by the weather too.

Ouch! Hope it mends quickly - I broke mine a few years back so feel your pain!
I'm usually desperate to ride, and I've had this whole week off work so the perfect time to ride every day...I just can't be bothered! So unlike me.

I know what you mean, and I haven't got any broken bones to give me just cause not to ride. I am putting it down to that syndrome you get when you need the sun (is it called SAD or something?). You go out and can't go across the bridlepaths because they are either too muddy or flooded and you go out on the road and run the risk of getting a car spray you and your horse with puddle water!!!!! No, I'd rather sit by the log burner drying out till the next time I have to go out to clean out stables etc, etc!

ROLL ON THE SPRING!! I have a sudden longing for a decent pleasure ride or maybe a local show ......:D

Yeah I'll go with the SAD as well...and inform hubby he needs to wisk me away to somewhere hot!

*update* my jods are now on so that's a step in the right direction! I'm just waiting for my lunch to go down...;-)

Know what you mean Vanner. Its not raining here but its really windy, everywhere is really muddy and yuk. I cannot face the thought of getting on the arab today, he was hooning around like a looney earlier. Instead i have been cleaning the kitchen.
Roll on spring....i have been having warm day riding fantasies :)

Dont worry, I sat on my horse on Friday for the first time since early December. I decided to ride today and the heavens just opened. He looked outside at the rain, looked at me and went back to his haynet.

Dont worry, I used to stress over it, but what the hell, he is happy, I am happy and thats all that matters.

I've barely ridden since the weekend of 15th. He had a plod out on Xmas Day with my sister walking alongside us and had him in the school for about 20 mins another day as they've barely been out in the field the last week due to the amount of rain/mud. Our school is poor at the best of times and half of it flooded at the moment and sand too heavy as so waterlogged. Track we have that leads to the bridleway is more of a bog than a path and horses hating going down there. Out the front onto the road isn't great as road through village has got so busy. I need people to hack out with at the moment and few riding out or I keep missing them when they're there.

I'm trying to stay dry as had a bug over Xmas and it's gone to my chest which has left me feeling flat and with no energy/mojo. But going up a bit later today to get him in school today for a leg stretch. Apart from that if he's in all day he gets walked round and round the stable block but he's bored of that already. He'd really like to graze though if he could. So fed up of the weather, both of us.

I have ridden nearly everyday, but it has been effort as I am sick of getting wet & the site of riding around the local village as it's to muddy to go anywhere else :(.

I am the oppostie if I don't ride when I could off I get annoyed with myself

This bloody weather isn't helping, we've gusts of 130 kmph and crappy rain, outdoor is waterlogged and couldn't face another day in the small indoor so gave the horse the day off and am taking the kids to the cinema. Tomoros a new day:)

Me neither! I had an operation last wednesday to remove a dodgy lymph gland in my groin and just as an extra pressie while I was under they gouged out a punch biopsy (OUCH) in a place ensuring NO riding for a few weeks! I was ok til I saw my neighbour ride thru the field below our house:-((((( unusually for me tho I am not THAT bothered as still so sore. I have two gorgeous horses here at home and poor oh is totally knackered from all the work he's had to do bless him - think it's been a dreadful shock to his system!!!! I'll be back!!!!! Hope u all are too or if not, enjoy the break!!!!

Not ridden since Mid November. decided to leave H naked and woolied up this year so weather has played a major part byt now the first decent day and I cant be bothered. Planning tiesday but not banking on it !!

We haven't ridden ours much since mid-Dec. Been rushing round sorting Xmas or working, then have collapsed in front of the fire otherwise! I need to clip again too, mine is a wooly monster that sweats. We thought of riding today, looked at the wind and rain, looked back at the fire and didn't!!

I haven't ridden in over a month due to being at university. (poor pony.) The weather back home is so terrible though. Managed to have a walk down the lane today but was really hoping to do some more seeing as I'm home for the xmas hols.

Cheers, 2.5 weeks in and am going stir crazy!
What makes it worse, is that I had just got new horse that same day, had unloaded him & hopped on for short 20+ min hack round the block - now he's sitting there with nowt to do & nobody to ride him regularly till I am strong enough to be able to drive to yard or ride :(
Hey-ho, people are telling me 'at least you did it at the worst time of the year' but thats the non-horse owning friends I have....... will be going even more stir crazy after next weekend as DH will be back at work & I will be limited to weekend visits

I suppose I'm better off than some tho :)

You are definetly not alone! I last rode my boy 3 weeks ago, am now looking after another 2 whilst their owners are away for christmas so between mucking out 3

Whoops wrong button! Between mucking out 3 little piglets I ha e absolutely no energy to groom them let alone ride! Owners come back next week so after some sleep I might have some energy and effort to get back on!

Not the only one. I work on the yard I keep my mare so in the cold, dark, wet evenings or my days off the last thing I want to do is school my horse. She's miserable doing it as am I, so I roughed her off for December. Best choice ever and now o want to ride again I will :)

Thank heaven I'm not the only one! Have had an eleven day break from work (previously unheard of luxury) and thought I would ride Spook the Arab most days. I have ridden him four times, and not more than forty minutes hack or thirty minutes in the school. Windy, wet, cold, dreary. Have spent hours in bed, reading and sleeping, along with the hot waterbottle whippet and fur collar cat. Perhaps if it ever stops raining, and/or howling gales, I might feel more inspired!

Ditto  We were going to ride every day, but every day it's P'd down. We got out once on Boxing Day

And we've got an indoor school :o

Hope you managed to get out and it wasn't too hair raising ;)

I haven't ridden for 3 weeks :( firstly because I started a new job and just didn't have much spare time, then xmas and now he has been kicked in the field and has a balloon for a knee - gutted! Although luckily he's sound and seems to be enjoying his break...

I have been riding but this weather has been getting me down - it's so depressing with it being so dark all of the time and raining non-stop. We have had no turnout at the yard for three weeks now due to this weather and although my boy isn't too bothered, I always feel a lot happier knowing he has had a couple of hours out each day. :(

I thought it was just me! My boy is lame, but have another horse to ride and have had two weeks off work but have not ridden since early december due to weather, christmas etc going to ride tomorrow hopefully but seem to have no get and go it seems to have got and gone! Hope will start to feel a bit more positive soon
