Hello peeps!
today i took Ellie and BP - (borrowed Pony - who i am currently looking after) to a local unaff stressage comp. BP was a star, very good boy and we commpleted prelim 12 with 62.8% and 3rd place - i can take absolutely NO credit for this, as i have only been riding him for a couple of weeks, and he is generally a Stressige Diva anyways!

Then onto Prelim 13, and the Beast!! she warmed up nicely, really soft and listening (very chuffed). then took her into the arena and she decided that it was THE most exciting thing to ever have happened to her (obviously expecting jumps to appear)! we stomped up the centre line - at all times trying our best to strike off into canter - we bounced round the circles, got EXTREMELY excited when i had to 'give and retake' my reins

and was generally very very happy. she had moments of ' i wonder what mum would look like if i pulled her arms to gorilla length' but i actually loved it. i had such a good time, as my horse was so happy and full of herself - i actually spent quite a lot of time giggling throughout my test

we ended up on a respectable 57.5 and came about 9th out of 20 odd - with an 8 for our free walk (it really is a life saver that my horse likes stretching!) and some nice comments about the Beastie.
i know it seems like a very minor achievement, but i used to suffer absolutely terrible nerves before dressage (point me at a 3'6 XC course any day

) and i was just so glad that i could enjoy it today! My pony is really a hunting, jumping, galloping around the countryside type of animal and so although today certainly wasnt the best test we have done, i was so glad that we could have a laugh together whilst doing something which really should involve keeping all 4's on the floor!!

Very sorry for the self 'indulgentness' of this post - but i dont do it very often!!

well done sarah! ash went to her first BSJA show today, was going great in the BN,completed the first phase then at the first JO fence otto tripped at the point of take off ,crashed straight through the jump and catapaulted her over his head! then in the second class ,he just clipped the planks and at the last double,he backed off it then threw himself over it again throwing ash onto his neck this time and jumped the 2nd part with her on his neck!(he did clear both jumps) she got a round of applause for staying on and a laugh from the crowd as she came over the first part and said 'oh no not again! thinking she was going to hit the deck!

Aw, poor Ash! He isnt small to fall from either! i hope she is ok! Well, horses wouldent be half as fun if they were foot-perfect all the time!! Im glad to hear Ash has got started on the BSJA now! good luck with it

Lol!! no she certainly doesnt!! i cant wait for the XC season to start, as that really is her forte! there isnt enough excitement in normal stressage, thats why she creates her own! TBH - i would rather a little b&gger like her who can be really good, but has a bit of fire to her than a horse that will just do the job without fuss - im not one for an easy life am i?

How is the Fabulous PF then?

I am posting Ellie over to sit on him *gets tied up in parcel tape*

HOW DARE HE!!!!!!!!!!!!! i honestly dont blame you for losing your rag, i would about Ellie, and she isnt exactly high-class!

The bloke in question has been bitching about me for a while and THAT was the last straw!!

How VERY dare he???

I've come to the conclusion that he is a sad, pathetic little man whose life is soooooo empty and dull that he has nothing better to do than bitch about how PF has more shavings (which I buy!) than his horse does...

lol, oh dear! sounds like a VERY pathetic person! I think that if he doesnt say anything more then you should take the moral high road, however that is BORING!!! Anyways, you, me and everyone who actually HAS eyes knows that PF is far from filth. it just shows his lack of taste, and knowledge doesnt it?

Exactly; all he knows about horses is that mine is fecking brilliant and his are horrible (although he's sure his randy arab is quite nice) I usually DO take the moral high ground (mainly so I can stay at the yard!!) but sometimes I think people need to be told a thing or two!!

Lol! you can borrow my pony, she really is the biggest character on 4 legs! i used to be petrified of the dressage arena, but now i decide to go as the 'entertainment' for all the other competators! i know my horse can do a nice test, and she is beginning to work really nicely at home - all good for jumping

But as dressage is not my main discipline, i can have a good giggle about it!

Ahhhh no, just that I have my name down(ish) on a yard there, along with a colleague. Are you further South then? I'd so like to move B MUCH nearer to the stud.

im north-east of thurlow, and about a half hour away from the centre of newmarket (depending on traffic!) so about twice the distance from newmarket that Thurlow is.
