I watched the war horse documentary last night and it had me in tears. Seeing those beautiful creatures dead in the mud with their harnesses on and hearing how brave both the horses and their soldiers were it's made me really think about my horse and the horses i've loved and lost.
So in memory to those forgotten horses that died to help give us freedom I thought I would start a thread for everyone to say why they love their horses and what their horse means to them.
I love my horse because:-
- he's my best friend. He's always there for me no matter what is happening in life as an anchor to remind me whats really important.
- he never lets me down. No matter what I throw at him, Dressage, XC, Showjumping, showing ect he NEVER says no.. he never stops at a fence or has a tantrum in the dressage, he always tries. He makes everything feel so easy and he is always 100% on my side when the chips are down.
- he's a precocious dork! He has a massive character which has me swinging from wanting to throttle him to howling with laughter.
- He can have spirit and fire and joy but then be calm and quiet and sweet as pie.
- I can squash up his soft squidgy nose and kiss it over and over and he loves it, he gently blows on my face when i'm brushing him and he always swings his itchy spots into me so i'm forced to scratch them.
- He is beautiful. His cloat gleams like molten fire and his eyes are shining liquid brown pools. He has tiny furry ears and a pretty dished face, he has the longest legs I have ever seen! He makes me laugh because when hes pratting around in the field he looks like an out of control baby orangutang, orange legs flying everywhere.
I could go on forever lol.
Your turn!
