What do you hate about having horses?

I love my horse to bits but HATE HATE HATE poo picking :p Anything else i will gladly do, i'd even muck out 10 extra stables if it meant i didn't have to poo pick :o

I'm not the only one, am i? :)

Nothing. Sorry but i love every part of horse ownership (but then i am abit mad and work with them to ;) :p:D )
The only thing i hate is they can't live forever :(

I love the whole way of life, and do my best thinking whilst shovelling horse muck lol.
Grooming is therapy to me, and when I'm upset, I go give my horses a pet and cuddle and it always brightens me up.

I think the only things I could do without is penny pinching yard owners, the local fish wives a few stables down and the battering my bank balance takes monthly lol x

I don't hate anything about horses. :)

 Horses are not the be all and end all of my existence, they don't rule my life, they fit into it.

There are days when I merely do a four legs and no blood check because I simply don't want to do anything with them.

I intensely dislike (far too lazy to go as far as hatred) clock watching and having to 'get back for the horses' so I don't. They live out, don't have a set routine and we are all as happy as pigs in muck.

Chavs! There semms to be a lot of chav horse owners round our way!

Oh and people who either don't look after their horses properly or are mean to them!

I was just thinking along the lines of I hate having to get up every day but actually, its having to go to work thats the problem!! If I didn;t have to, I could get up at a normal time every day rather than what feels like the middle of the night, and not be so knackered by the time the weekend comes!!

I hate the uncertainty of a poorly old horse. :(

poo picking in a muddy field has to be the worst, especially when it's slippery, but I'm always quite happy, cos the boy follows me around and sniffs everything that goes into the wheelbarrow - quality control checks - so at least I'm not lonely ! sm x

id rather be poopicking in the summer than mucking out luckily my pony lives out in summer but i hate poopicking in winter as i have to do it as well as mucking out and turning out my pony all in about half an hour before school in the dark an cold

Hate poo-picking and will avoid it at any cost - harrowing please :) Also detest cleaning saddles, not sure why and have no problem cleaning bridles, in fact quite like sitting in front of the fire watching TV and taking a bridle to pieces, but used to switch jobs with my sisters - they do my saddle and I'll do their bridle :)

poo picking does my back in. I always try to pile the barrow up to the brim and when i wheel it back half of it rolls back off again. Needless to say im out there for some time.

Been racking my brains, and nothing really! Other than a definate dislike of the battering my bank balance takes! Rather like poo picking and admiring clean fields after (but then tbh I could do to get out more!). The only thing I hate is when my girl is poorly, feel awful that I can't just wave a magic wand and make her better.

I previously would have said poo picking, but after the joys of all winter mucking out two boxes twice a day from one messy horse and one on box rest, TRUST ME I'd give anything to be able to poo pick all year round!!

I hate hate HATE when our field gets sodden and you're literally up to your knees in mud, get stuck, fall on your face as the horse whos coping fine pisses off towards the yard, leadrope trailing behind him!

I hate pushing wheelbarrows up hills (which happens alot in Gloucetsershire!)

And I hate the early mornings because if i didnt work i could sleep more and still be reasonable to the horses!

But its all worth it, for having them!

Ditto. Although it is a good excuse to get out of something you don't want to do sometimes...'oh I can't, I don't have a horse sitter' Tee hee!

I also dislike mid winter when its peeing down, cold and the mud is up to your knees :)

i think the worst bit is emptying our muck heap.. it's an old sheepfold thats 7 foot tall at on end and 3 foot at the other and too small to get a jcb into so we have to use that to take the top off and then have to dig the rest out by hand!

poo picking I don't really like.... but we only have one paddock to do so it isn't that big a deal

I hate moving electric fencing  Ours is run off the mains and although you can switch it off, some "do gooder" invariably thinks it has been left off in error and switches it back on whilst you're wrapped up in the ****** stuff  :o  :o

I'll happily do someone's poo picking if they will get electrocuted for me? :p :D

I love horses and I have to say that in the summer I quite enjoy poo picking. We do it every day at my yard though too so its so much easier. I love wondering around the field with my iPod going, rubber gloves on chucking poo in a bucket, and soaking up the sun!!

What I HATE about horses is untacking them when they are all sweaty and the numnah is all wet and minging. And picking out feet when the mud is all compacted.

I HATE the winter cause I HATE mud and filling haynets, chaging wet rugs, muddy horses, mucking out in the rain, getting up when it's freezing when your bed is so warm & comfy :o

Come and live where I do, no rain, no mud until Spring time:D
As for the cold, that is what indoor stalling and insulated leggings were designed for, after a month or so -10C is warm! 0C is positively tee shirt weather!;)

I agree, just not having enough hours in the day! they are so expensive!
I have to work so much to pay for her that I don't have enough time to do everything I want with her
