Pictures I may have done a thing…buying unseen

Ah fab, congratulations! He does look like the type that will blossom into something proper smart as he grows. Enjoy :D:D:cool:

(And yes, BBP looks as bonkers and stunning as ever)
He never lets the team down, always 100% reliable to be ridiculous. For a retired out of work (apart from liberty training) horse who I nearly had put to sleep last year, he’s looking pretty good isn’t he ? A Connemara yearling can’t be any more of a challenge than he is…I hope!

Can I ask why? I just did a brief search and can’t find any negative connotations to it?

It's a slang term for an impotent man. Used as an insult generally by men to other men (who probably aren't actually potent).

Ah I did see that one, but I figured there is probably a slang slur for every word out there. That said, I did discount Fraggle based on its slang use (and that the Fraggles terrified me!)

? If it was that bad I should think it would have been taken off the cakes too. I was the first thing that sprung to my mind when someone suggested calling him Jaffa, but I'm fairly confident I would be in the minority. In any case, you could pick any name and have it picked up as some slang term or other after that.

You could always call him Fig Roll instead :p. Figgy for short.

I love the photo where BBP is performing and Fraggle/Jaffa/Yogi ...... is looking at him with a "what's all the fuss about?" look :D. Good luck, little one looks very promising and both are gorgeous.

They are both beautiful. I think you said earlier he is dilute black? Which would make sense of his colour, which is identical to my dilute black mare who I sometimes call chocolate or mahogany coloured, with blonde highlights!

I have no idea to be honest. Initially thought bbp was Smokey black but then may be due to nd1 so not sure. Then little one I’m not sure. He’s more chocolatey and his eyes are much paler. Hopefully someone can educate me!

Technically it's impossible to visually tell the different between black and smokey black as there is so much overlap between the phenotypes. Plus vitamin deficiencies (copper mostly I think) and sun bleaching can make black horses look pretty un black.
The muzzle and cornet bands are the best at telling the difference between liver chestnut, dark bay and black. Both should be black (??) in a black horse. Which I'm sure yours are.
Nd1 is relatively common in PRE but I don't think it's been found so far in Connie's or Welsh but cream is found in both. ND1 can cause extra sun fading and some coat dilution and dun features such as ear tips and dorsals.
If you know the bloodlines you can see if cream is present nd1 is less easy although it can be confused as dun.

He’s so lovely! I can see what drew you to him.

And BBP, as always, just absolutely stunning.

As an aside, is it wrong to buy someone a colour genetics test if you get them as your HHO Secret Santa?
?? that’s a genius not-so-secret Santa!

BBP has finally worn himself out and quit posing and posturing for the most part. He has even accepted that the baby is good enough company to allow my sister to take her two out ride and lead, which is a great start.

Small Jaffa cake pony is completely cool and composed. Not ready to make friends fully yet but happy to follow me around. I found him at the very furthest end of the field away from the others, munching away. So maybe one I can eventually hack on my own with?!? That would be novel!

I had mine tested for cream, with a single copy present. Can PM you a picture if you want! So pleased he's settled in well so far.
