Hello!

So, my babyhorse had her first ever saddle fitting today - a great success - she doesn't need a new saddle! We are using a pretty rubbish but perfectly suitable one that we already have, for the first few months.

The problem with it is - its like sitting on an ice rink! So I really am looking for a sticky-bum seat saver, and sticky bum jods!

Can anyone recommend any? The ones I can see are all sheepskin type stuff - is that gonna stick my butt to the saddle? xx

I have a Heather Moffat seat saver, which is sort of suede, stops me slipping about on my wintec saddle! They are expensive but you might find a second hand one on line, which I did for half the new price.

The avacallo gel out seat savers are really good you can pick them up from horse health!
Otherwise I have a mattes seat saver needing a new home

I have an Acavallo Gel one and its wonderful! The best impulse buy iv ever had :D

Really keeps you from slipping, even with a TB who can magically transport himself (it seems) from one side of the road to the other in a split second if he sees something he does like. It has amazing Stickability xD

Do the sheepskin ones give you any grip? Id rather buy one second hand because obviously I've just spent a fortune on new saddle, breastplate (holy cow that was expensive...) etc etc.

I don't really want to buy the Heather Moffett one, but I've heard they're good. Is there a cheaper version?

Keep suggestions coming please :)

x

You can buy copies but price wise they're not very different. They're very alike in design and comfort too (I have 1 of each). I hate the sheepskin ones, found they make your bum boil, and not very comfy either (have a nuumed one).

Got the acavello gel out which is fab but can get little clammy when warm! Also made mistake of wearing with suede full seat jobs so had problems dismounting!
