I need advice please!!!

I'd still be inclined to move. You'll still be losing the help from the friend who is moving. Your own place - your own rules about what time to bring in, whether to bring in...

If you've got twice the acreage at the new place then the cost of hay will be less, also bedding if you choose to leave out longer. If the new yard is closer, also factor in the saving in fuel. Mine costs ~£60 per month for each horse if they need to come in every day over night.

On the down side if you are there on your own do you have any back up if you are ill or want to go away for any reason.

The new yard is further away but only by about 5/10mins.

I wont have anyone to help out as it will just be me at the new place.
My other half isnt horsey at all and would know one end to the other 😂

I would have these rules at my current yard as its DIY with no rules as such.

The yard owners daughter has offered he help of ever i need it

So my current yard owner has thrown a spanner in the works.
She approached me tonight and made it clear that she really doesn’t want me to leave.
She has offered me 2 of her fields which are yard side and 2 stables and i can graze my current field through summer!

Im due to be going to pay the deposit on the new place tomorrow 🤦🏼‍♀️
??whaaat??
You’re seriously reconsidering??
I’m absolutely certain YO doesn’t want you to leave, you must be the most complaisant livery ever, will be nigh impossible to find anyone else to take on those conditions!
She could have offered to improve your conditions at any previous time - is it really you that’s so wanted, or the prospect of losing livery?
Tell YO that you ARE leaving, but would welcome the prospect of possible return if doesn’t work out.
If she says ‘of course, delighted to have you back’ - great, you have your emotional reassurance and safety net.
If she says ‘no chance’ - you have the answer.
Maybe sign that new lease before you become known as unreliable?

I also think you've made the right choice with the new yard...stick to your guns 🔫 You can always find someone reliable to share with through word of mouth at a later stage if you need to split the costs. Go for it!!

Yes but presumably she knew that your friend is leaving which would leave you struggling in the dark on your own. I would continue with your new arrangement.
Precisely!
You may not be aware, but a landowner has a duty of care to anyone on their property, even uninvited trespassers.

I would be horrified at thought of anyone wandering round our farm: over bridges, through woods, wrestling with multiple gates, deep mud, all weathers, in the dark, with two ponies, on their own.... Risk assessment??!? doesn’t bear thinking about.

Plus, insurers would hit whatever roof has been left after last storm!

Now it transpires there has been a far safer option available all along - only offered when the money is running out the door....

Amazingly lucky you haven’t yet twisted your ankle or worse.

This YO and her daughter do not have your best interests at heart, either that or they are the most unobservant ever (in which case, help from the daughter isn’t worth a light).

On the other hand, if I were the prospective landlord, especially if living on site, I would far prefer a tenant who could genuinely appreciate the facilities and respect them.

There will be other horse owners who would do this, even if you can’t. Have a nice Christmas, wherever.
