I really think we should all

Dotilas, can't quote but good. I thought this was an unfair rule improperly paraphrased by the news it would seem.
Good luck to her!

Will do :) Also sponsoring my dad as he's running this weekend for cancer research but spinal injury research is so important for us riders.

Thanks kerrilli :)

Donated...again !! Good forbid we ever need their research but £1 now (or more) might be all it needs to make our next step guaranteed....

Does anyone know if the Times columnist Melanie Reid is on Twitter or how to get in touch with her? For those that read her (amazing) column, this is a cause very close to her heart. Perhaps she would be willing to mention Clare to her followers.

thanks for being our morale conscience (sp?) by reminding us to donate! I've been meaning to do this for weeks and after your very polite prompt have actually done it!

Donated & posted link on face book - hope it doesn't rain or is too warm for Claire. She's such a gutsy lady.

I agree it could have been any of us, pls support, and share on twitter (@claire80lomas)
and FB.

Claire also still seeking more celebs to join her for half hr or more, the more celebs, the more press coverage, the more money raised, so any contacts you have on twitter or FB... pass it on!

Can't find Melanie Reid on twitter.....

thanks for the reminder, just done mine. Very good friend of mine broke her back but fortunately made a full recovery - could have been so much worse. It's a subject very close to my heart :( What a challenge to take on though :)

well, i'd been meaning to do it for ages, and then when i saw that video it truly hit me how hard she is going to have to work, every single step of the way... very humbling. so it felt as if the very least i could do was try to get other people to give a little bit too.
the total has gone up a lot since last night, yay, and someone told her about the posts on here and the response so i got a very nice message on Twitter from her, which was lovely. maybe this can convince some people that we're not all a bunch of nasty nutcases! ;) ;) ;)

I too have dontated and have posted the link to the 'york equestrian' page on facebook.

A lot of people get 'celebs' to retweet charity/fundraising posts on twitter - might be worth tweeting a few and seeing if we can get it a mention?!

that's a great idea. i've already tweeted to Chris Evans as i've followed him for ages, worth a try!
get on it please guys, let's really get this rolling, more celebs and mentions definitely. it would be fantastic if she reached her target (or even exceeded it?!?!) and might make every step a tiny bit easier!

Ooooh, LOOOK!!!!

@EquiSpy1 in one day approx 100 @horseandhound forum users donated to @claire80lomas can twitter followers beat that? Pls donate & RT

Keep it going, please everyone, this is fantastic! I reckon she's more than £2k up on what it was last night. :) :) :)

Can we get this trending? can some bright young thing tell me how please?!

I hope you don't mind Kerilli but I copied & pasted your post to my facebook page and also to all the equine groups pages I belong to.

You worded the request to donate so well - better than I could do.
I fractured L1 & L2 last year & feel very fortunate to have made a full recovery - am back HT'ing & first event in a couple of weeks but I know the outcome could have been very different for me.

I'm in awe of Claire's gutsy determination to do this walk.

no problem, great to hear, the more the merrier. i'm amazed at the response on here, got to keep it going though if we can...
congrats on your full recovery, that's great news. good luck at your comps.
Yes, i'm totally in awe of her too. when i think of the effort to do every step, and how many she's going to have to do... and for such a great cause.
i really do believe that in future a damaged spinal cord will no longer mean paralysis. we've made such amazing progress in other areas of medicine... the sooner we can fund the research to make it happen, the better. this shouldn't be sci-fi, it needs to happen asap for people like Claire and so many others.

Maybe if we all Twittered;

Please text 70070 with "LEGS60 £1" to get @Claire80Lomas walking the marathon #jogonClaireLomas

We might get a few extra quid ? Ive put £1 rather than "amount" to try and tempt everyone in for even the smallest amount.
