I Rode To My Prom!!! (Lots of Pics!)

Lovely lovely pictures!!!!!

Though props to you...I think the biggest risk was wearing a strapless dress sat on a horse!!! :p lol!

Really nice, lovely pics, I will turn a blind eye for the lack of viz gear and hats  as it was a special occasion, you and beasties looked brill :)

Thank you all for your lovely messages. Sorry I havent replied sooner, but I am being a good teenager and was out earning some money! Regarding the person who called me stupid, my mother wouldn't have let me ride my horse without a hat if she thought that there was a major risk. Of course there were some risks associated with it, but you can cross the road and get run over! Please don't call me stupid and patronise me. If you don't like what you saw, just walk away and grumble to yourself about it but DON'T come on a public forum and call me stupid! Thank you!

Wow, you all looked amazing. Hats off to the lady wearing heels on the coloured !!! Cannot imagine how that felt dismounting in those !! :D

My thoughts too!!

Lovely pictures, all four of you look lovely, a lot of effort must have gone into making your horses look as beautifully turned out as you and your friend.

Oh please do grow up. You are acting more of a teenager than I am. If you don't like it, then just walk away and forget about it. You are being very rude and I do not appreciate your comments. I did NOT ask for comments about not wearing a hat. I event, so I understand the dangers and the way that wearing a hat can save your life. It's not like I was going around Badminton was it?!

You both look gorgeous and I love how well turned out the horses look :D

I am a staunch supporter of the 'wear a hat' brigade but a 5 min walk up a private drive with someone next to you on foot is a lot different to the twits who ride out on roads and jump without a hat.

What a lovely idea you look fab and will be such lovely memories. Ignore nasty comments I can't believe a teenager can't put a lovely thing like this on without being insulted. Sad sad people.

Honestly what IS life without risks anyway. We're not gulliable or naive, we're riders and all know the flipping risks associated with riding and what a hat does.

I 99% of the time wear my hat, however, they're have been times where I don't. Siggy for example. Riding on holiday abroad. Last night, my horse was being a git with a friend on so I got on, and got his arse in gear and yes, was jumping 1.10's on him with no hat. However, at that point, getting him back on track and listening was my main aim and waiting 10mins for me to go back to the yard to get my hat, would have been pointless as he needed sorting there and then. I knew the risk and took it. I NEVER jump without a hat usually and am still not a beleiver of 'well the horse is safe so don't wear it' arguement as was on safe-cob Hairy out hacking and came off [A deer ran out and we flipped over it into a plough ditch, broke the two parts of my hat hitting my head on a stony mound in the plough....dread to think what my head would have looked like!!!]

So yeah....hats are a personal choice ad we ALL know the risks like we do the back of our hand. It's not a vanity thing. It's just a taken risk. All risks were limited by only a short distance to ride, being led, etc etc. So really honestly, just back off. It was a lovely day to remember for them so remove the lemon from your mouth! :)

I'll say again. Fabulous photos, you all look gorgious and makes me wish I could redo my prom night!!!

Thank you for that! I can't agree more with what you have said. Thank you :) x

Very beautiful pictures Shrek. Something to treasure for ever :)

As for riding without a hat, I can't see that what you did was any more risky than me hopping on my mare and riding her from the field to the yard. I bet I'm not the only one that does that!

Stunning photos - definitely agree that you should get that one blown up and put onto canvas.

I'm more concerned about the issues riding in a strapless dress and the possibility of flashing someone, than I am lack of hat ;)

Looks like you had a lovely time
