I may as well not have stirrups... About the long reins its more one hand on buckle end. other hand picking leaves and stuff off trees

Colour is a good point! What do people think about colour? Personally I think it looks quite good if a horse has matching numnah/boots/browband, but that might just be me with the whole colour coordinating... (am in love with a dun I have seen with blue boots, numnah, xc colours, travel boots, rug headcollar... WANT!) Is that chavvy? Maybe chavvy isn't the right word... unstylish? Painful to look at?

Local riding clubs around me are quite chavvyish with the jackets with name on back, numnahs with name on (I like these.. :P) but horses all have grackles and dutch gags with a two reins or a rounding and one rein?? Ick.

Slightly off topic but if everyone else is going to rant.....

I went local unaffil SJing at the weekend and was amazed to see a parent shout at their child, across the arena, that they were "unfit to even ride a f*****g pony" because it knocked a pole down!!

Was gob smacked. The girl was about 12, lovely pony as well, and she was a reasonable enough rider!!!

And why don't people pat their ponies to say well done or thanks anymore????

I have my pony's name on the back of a brown and baby blue-lined blouson jacket. I also have sets of baby blue boots, and a Barnsby browband encrusted with baby blue crystals. But then I use a treeless saddle, and pony isnt shod.. so does that make me a chav, or a hippy.. or even a chippy..??!

I meant thong to jods, and bra to shirt, but now you mention . . . I do co-ordinate my pony but only so far as her boots are all black and her bridle matches her saddle, tho I do have a blue numnah with her name on it, I ride on a team at club level and that's the norm for us.
