I think I'm done *WARNING wingey self-pity thread*

Thanks :) That really does mean a lot to me.
When I got him, I was excited about having a horse that "fits" I usually get ponies that too small or have underlying problems which comes off badly.
I really did think I had done something right with him. Looking at pictures now compared to the ones at first there's an amazing difference.
I was prepared to put in the work and time to him, but everything has just blown up. I wonder if it's best I leave him.

I think I'll carry on, but keep it low tone. Just schooling and nothing drastic.
Do you really think he does? I'm not sure I'm the right person for him, but I want to try with him. I was so dead set a few days ago I don't know if I'm just being stupid letting these things get to me.
Every little thing I do gives people ammo. I'm just thinking though, at least I'm worth talking about I guess :)

Just carry on at whatever pace you and Kao feel comfortable with, as long as you're both happy its all that really matters.

When it comes to forums/facebook etc you are always going to get opinions that differ to your own, some people are polite in expressing them, some as blunt as can be, some even deliberately come onto forums looking for a fight - saddos lol.
You have to take the rough with the smooth, I've had dogs abuse at times and I've also given my share of blunt replies when people have pee'd me off.
Just remember, you dont know these people personally, they are just someone else the other side of a keyboard expressing an opinion and its rarely ever personal.

just one final point, it takes 2 to get into an argument!! Dont bite x

I am loathe to label it bullying. Yes, the OP is a youngster, but to post pics and say some of the things she said have opened her to unwelcome comments. She unfortunately does not want to listen, but is now saying herself that her horse is a cob (which was the main sticking point on the other forum!).

I believe that if someone posts pictures of themselves with no hat, riding, then others will make derogatory comments: this, too, was one of the main issues.

If someone has not read the other forum comments, it is unfair to use the term 'bullying'. Age should not matter on forums and we are not all at school.

Cinammontoast
Yes, perhaps 'bullying' was too stronger word to use with hindsight and the benefit of your additional clear explanation.
In relation to the age issue, I merely meant that young people today spend an inordinate amount of time interacting on line and as such its impact on their lives is greater than we can imagine, not that being young is an excuse/reason for inappropriate comments and photos.

Glad to be of help Kao, good luck, I'm sure I'll read how you are getting on, and hope it will all be positive :D

Yeah, def keep the chin up and work at your own pace. Seriously, dont listen to all that critisism, (so spelled wrong), I have an ex, (father of my 2 children), that tells me at every given oppertunity that i couldnt ride a bike, just because, since we split, I got back into horses, and it's killing him that I actually broke my 3 year old "all by myself", and he's going really well. The easiest and best way to shut people up is by continuing what you do. To give up would be to give in!! Dont let them win!!!!!!

Thank you :D I don't mind if it's constructive but there's a fine line.
Ah, well done! :) Me and my Mum backed her 3 year old this summer and he's going well now. Cheeky pony but improving everyday :)

yeah, constructive is good, but..... My little fecker should have been called chancer, cos he does try it on, but in fairness, is very good. never bucked reared or anything when ridden first, He's only 14.3hh, so hopefully will grow another inch or 2.
do kep the chin up though, there are times when I think of packing it all in, but I do come to my senses in time. I also have a yearling(nearly 2 year old), that I just cant wait to get riding, he'll be more difficult, although I love him, and he's so heavy, he's got hair from his knees down, but is brazen. I think he'll be real fun when the time comes, I called him Batista, (Wrestler), as my son is mad into wrestling, and the wrestler Batista is big, strong and GORGEOUS, just like my boy!! I had to have my best boy PTS last november, still heartbroken, I loved him like a child, and my old faithful mare had to be PTS in May, so have had a really **** year, but hopefully, it's on the up, no more bad!!
Really hope you keep at it, The highs and the lows, all part of the game, but as I said before, best way to get revenge is to be successful, what ever that may be!!!

I'm going to try :) That type of revenge is the only way it will benefit me and Kao too.
Good luck with your boys! They sound great :D

I didnt know you were on HHO!

*waves*

I just want to reiterate what others have said. There will always be people who will disagree with you, argue or insult you, you just have to stay true to yourself and not let it get to you.

I've had some truly hurtful comments on here, and will admit I've cried. However, I am a stronger person now, partly thanks to those people who were less than nice. I know who I am, and I am perfectly happy this way, and no-one can take that away from me.

I think it was it was Kurt Cobain who said this:

"I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not"

TG x

P.S.
farting butterflies and glitter
BEST quote ever :D. Absolutely made my day!

Thank you, the are cool, if sometimes very trying, but i love them all the same. That kind of revenge is the nicest kind, as it does benefit you and your horse, so it's the best really. keep me posted on your progress, i love to hear about good stories!!!!!!!

Kao, you cannot change what people think or say about you. That is life!

But you are in control of how you respond and the choices you make in your life.

You can choose to let strangers online make you feel like cr*p, and throw away the thing you love.

Or, you can choose to get rid of your computer, or not to go on FB/forums, and instead to focus on you, your horse and re-building your self-confidence.

Do it! No matter what has gone on with FB or TO, put it behind you, move forwards & make your own decisions. Nothing in this world feels better than those moments when you achieve your goals with your horse, no matter how tiny!

I wish you all the best :)

Kao Kao Kao, what can I say that others have not done so already.

Forget facebook, it's evil if used for the wrong purposes, forget about the people that don't matter in life, life if too short to not enjoy or do the things you want to do just because of other peoples silly opinions and comments.

Honestly get a grip (I mean that in a nice way) loose the maggots that need to feed of other peoples misfortune and do what you want, why hang your boots up just because of other people?

Best thing you can do is keep busy, concentrate more on life...real life, doing nice things and leave the cyber world and give yourself chance to clear your head and rid yourself of the demons which are making you feel this way.

(((hugs))) fresh start and all...go go go (well not from HHO) but you know what i mean :)

Basic story is:
I sold two little project ponies this year. Gave my 3 year old to my Mum (another horse that I just didn't have a bond with) and used the money I got from the second project pony I sold to buy Kao.

When I bought him I rode him once in the school and honestly thought what the hell have I got myself into. He would go forward then just stop dead, not naughty but just didn't understand leg = forward. I spent a lot of time on the ground with him, bringing him in, faffing (tail washing, pretty plaits for the sake of it etc), leading round the school and just general bonding things.
The first month went well, then I started riding him and he's gone from not knowing what leg is to having a lovely trot consistently around the school doing serpentines and even leg yeilding. Canter...we're still working on :D He does it (which is better than he was) but it's more "leg, canter, hold buckle, keep leg on" He's super sensitive so the slight touch on the reins and he's back in trot. He'll get the hang of it eventually.

I'm happy with him, extremely happy in fact. But I feel so completely useless with him it's upsetting to say the least. I feel like I can't ride him properly, can't put in the ground work he needs and feel like the bond we had is fading :/
It's more a case of him being too good for me.

After achieving all the above how can you feel useless....he sounds likes he`s coming along well and believe me if he didnt trust you/want to you wouldnt have got this far!

Ignore anybody getting to you, take any valuable advice and hun....go HACKING...trust me...solves a multitude of problems and puts a smile on your face...you can do your schooling out hacking...its a change for the both of you.

I`ve left a few 'certain' forums due to the bitchiness and everybody treating each other like enemies...alot are cliquey....i joined this one because its quite possibly the nicest one I`ve come across (yes shock horror :) ) There are a few spats and what not but the majority of the time there is a lot of valuable advice and lots of amusing threads :)

Dont give up horses just because someone THINKS your too inexperienced!!! thats their opinion, if you were that bad Your mum and RI would have told you by now and more than likely wouldnt have let you buy and bring on Kao.... As you know my oh bought 2 unbacked youngsters last year.....i`m a happy hacker always have been for the past 20 years...i`ve backed and brought on the girls myself....they`re never going to be dressage superstars but they ARE safe and they`re fun...isnt that what horses are all about?
Go and have fun with kao hun...you`ve got the basics down with him thats all that matters :D

If you want a chat message me on Facebook sweetie x

My best friend just told me this quote:

"No-one can make you feel inferior without your permission"

Remember everything good you have done, and how far youve come xx

So your going to let a load of people from a forum that wouldnt knwo you from adam chase you off??? How sad. i have had mush worse roasting thatn that and would I let ANYONE chanse me from my horses??? Not a chance in hell.

So what some people didnt share your view on a thread??? So what that some people didnt think your horse was a warmblood??? In the grand scheme of thing what does it matter??

If you willing to let people chase you off your 'dream' was it really soemthing your heart was desiring?? Nobody no matter what they said could make me give up horses.

I think that people take what is said on forum too seriously i mean people hide behind forums they feel brave not all are liek this in RL and they would probably run a mile from a confrontation. Having read your thread i can see why they jumped on you a bit but rather than laugh it off you got all het up about it. I get like this too sometimes and cant stop myself but hey ho its a forum and people will be what they want to be and act how they want to act.

Give yourself a shake and get yourself out of the self pity party and MOVE ON. If this is all it takes to make you leave horses then your heart must have not been in it harsh but I am afraid that if it was me i would be sticking it to people and posting more pics and updates just to show that i wasnt bothered, not giving up.

Nikki :)

Wow, I didn't expect to wake up to this o_o
Daamn, you guys are more kickass than I though :D

The good thing about FB is being able to delete all the unpleasant people, on the other forums. Not so much.
I'm going to the yard today so we'll see what happens :)
