I think I'm paranoid, does anyone else do this?

Nearly everytime I ride or exercise Roo, I think she's lame.
She never is but I think it, and give her the night off. Especially if she has a bad day, I instantly think she feels funny, must be lame.
I think it's because I love her so much that I'm scared of her going lame.
Do you ever imagine your horse's lameness?

Sort of.... Merlin is always a bit wrong as he has an arthritic fetlock...... no one else thinks he is hopping, inc the vet.... but I always worry and think I can feel things

Ummm no, but after Bodey needed treatment on his back last time (he had got too wide for his saddle, which has now been changed), I’m paranoid about his back being sore. So I'm always prodding to see if there are any twitches, and doing carrots stretches to make sure he is still flexible. He always seems fine though.

i imagine everything.im a totally paranoid owner.however i have had to deal with my fair share of traumas and become a bit obsessive about the most recent issue.at the moment its checking fetlock for heat and swelling as this came up about 10 days ago.

yup, but ab's is unlevel behind and is a bit arthritic, she doesnt look lame to anyone else but always feels a bit creeky. obviously vets check her millions of times and shes fine

Now that we're working horses more than they probs should at work I am getting really parioid and end up sat on the box seat staring at their feet and listening intently. I have noticed though that magnus has some arthritus in a hock (not surprising for a 20yr old shire!) as he's moving it differently so it's usful that I noticed early so it can be montiored properly. Jake's shivering is getting worse too which makes me worse!

I do imagine lameness

but I don't end up not riding cos *touches wood* there has never been anything wrong! I know what I'm like, especially in the run up to a competition that I've been looking forward to and working towards. I end up imagining all sorts of terrible things!

Luckily my friend and instructor is a physio and very astute when it comes to spotting lameness, so she can always put me right when I'm stressing about a non-existant limp

I baby FB at the moment and worry every time he trips or slips when we are out riding that he's in pain - silly really as he was always a clumsy fumblefoot before the accident if he wasn't getting enough work. I have now been told by two equine vets he is FINE and to get his chubby butt moving again!

I notice things no-one else can see but if the vet can see it & I can feel it, then it's there.

I don't think she feels lame when being ridden; however, I do always obsessively check her legs & hooves & if she's looking a bit stiff behind (she has a mild neurological stringhalty type action behind which goes away when she's fit) then I trot her up until I'm sure she's sound as a pound.

I've been too scared to jump her since she had a couple of months off last summer with a shoulder muscle sprain, though!

Ive been worrying that Lance was lame for ages.He seemed so bad on one diagonal at the trot, even in a straight line, but no one else could feel it.
It turns out that I,m the one thats lame,I am not sitting straight due to an old accident.
