...and it occured to me just how much Genie has changed in the year and a half I've had her. We found out this week that she's a year younger than we thought, so instead of being 5 when I bought her, she was 4. This explains why she was so so so green, and also why she's grown 2 inches! She's now rising 6 and has grown and chunked a lot.

As a 4 year old, not long after I bought her (excuse the mud!)

And a few weeks ago, rising 6.

To me it appears that her shoulders are more substantial, there's more depth to her girth (in a good way), and she generally more muscled. Her neck doesn't seem so long either. I don't think she's fat (please correct me nicely if you disagree!), what do you all think on the way she's changed??

It’s amazing the change they go though between the age of 4 and 6, my Bodey doesn’t look the same horse now at 6. Genie has matured and muscled up a lot, she is looking really, really good!

how do you make her shine so? why do i love her sooooo much when she's a MARE (*hacks up a bit of yuck sick*)?

raff looks very different in the 10months i've had him... he came to me sleek, slim and trimmed. he's now a hairy chunky monster. the opposite sort of change genie has undertaken... xx

Thanks JoBo!

MiM - Thanks! It's reassuring to know other people agree with me weight wise!

clipcloppop - Daily grooming and a horse that likes daily mud facials I think aids the shining.... and you love her so much because she's amazing! On the sending her to you note.... Not a chance! However if you're ever down my way give me a shout! Raff will be sleek and shiny again soon, don't worry!

What a difference, grown into herself I would say! Shoulders, front end much improved. And nice muscle too. And weight perfect....if only some geldings I know would aspire to such a waistline!
