i watched Black Beauty today and cried all over my dog!

All that whinnying every time some scuffle occurred drove me mad as horses are pretty much silent unless calling out to each other. The narration was good and Anna Sewell got so much spot on as to be visionary.

Piebald Sparkle worked with the set horses and said the old one at the end was for real, rescued off a slaughter trip. He had a few weeks of tender care, iirc, then died.

I didn't cry a tear at the Warhorse film, but I felt awful when I came out of the cinema and found a horsey friend slumped against the wall sobbing copiously and asking me 'wasn't it so SAD?', she must have thought me so hardhearted.

I gulped and gurgled my way through Black Beauty yesterday, oh GINGER!!

The film that used to (and probably still would) reduce me to a mess of tears was The Incredible Journey, when the 2 dogs and the cat find their way home. It's the end bit where the old dog finally turns up, I'd bawl my eyes out every time.

I watched it again too, and realisde that one of the charctcers was a main character in Downton Abbey (Bates) - he was then in another film later.
I do like this version of Black Beauty, despite all the slip ups with the horses plating BB!

I'm such a drip just reading this started me off snivelling.

I don't need much, I started crying at the opening music of Black Beauty and didn't stop until it was over - I've never been so drained from crying. My boyfriend at the time couldn't understand it. :o When I went to see Warhorse in London I started to cry as soon as I saw the poster outside the theatre never mind when I actually sat down to watch it.

Today I've spent the afternoon crying over Hachi - A dog's tale - sniff sniff :(
