Icy cold weekend plans

Our weekend was a bit of a disaster. Took the two big boys to our loca venue on Friday to pop round the newcomers but somehow managed to arrive 3 hours early 😩

Finally got on Blue, only for people to keep riding AT us in the warmup, which upset him big time. Someone used his backside to stop their horse running off with them. 😡

I’d already decided to withdraw Beau as he hates having his personal space invaded and was likely to kick out (tail ribbon is more often than not ignored).

Ended up getting off Blue and withdrawing him as well. Had a word with the ring steward but doubt anything will change going forwards.

Anyways... the outdoor has finally thawed so I can run through my tests for this weekend. Raz hasn’t been out for a couple of months so I’m not particularly hopeful - I’ll be happy if we stay inside the arena. 🙈

That's rough BM. I have only ever taken Amber to one affiliated BS event. The behaviour of many other horses in the collecting ring was so appalling I have never been back! It's a shame really as I would like to do some showjumping with her.
 
It’s the closest show centre to us so we tend to go quite often as it’s only 20 minutes away in the box.

I’m actually going to go back this weekend - Raz isn’t ready to do a test so the big boys can go jumping instead. No sense driving to Edinburgh when I can do the same class an hour closer to home.

If I’m allowed, I think I’ll carry a long stick so I can force people to keep their distance if needed. Must check the BS rule book to see if I’d get away with that as long as I don’t carry it in the ring. 🤔
 
My last dressage warm up was fairly hairy, but at least I only had to pull up on a canter circle, rather than pulling up on the way to a fence :(

My 13.2 was not impressed at being charged at by huge horses.....

Poor you :(
