I use a haybar with a haynet tied in it rather than the hay being loose.

This thread is really pertinent to my current issues. My boy does not trash his hay round his stable but needs to be slowed down. He had KS surgery in oct 2012 and is doing brilliantly however his slow feed hay net has actually caused a knot in his neck and increased muscle one side. I now feed from the floor and he is so much improved I wish I had done it from day one however he is now putting weight on. I like the look of the slow feeder thingy may speak to my man that makes things!

I have to slow down my mare's eating. I use the Trickle Net with a locking carabina, it's much easier to fill than a haynet.

U can get small hay net style things they have a square at the front were it is hay net material and the rest is a material bag with a big opening at top so easier than haynets wjl be more expensive though cos they tend to be smaller than haynets
